taintedfire12
Im planning on building my first gaming PC and am really looking forward to modding Skyrim. I completed the main storyline in vanilla years ago (never did any dlc- I know, shame!) Im just curious to see whats the most people have done to redesign/curtail/mod to the hearts desire while completing a run through of Skyrim without any technical problems. So whats the most youve done (Number of mods)?
Guest deleted2027229
I cater each modlist to every playthrough, but there are a list of "essentials" that I copy + paste in each game; QoL improvements such as keyboard control of the UI (better messagebox controls), faster sleep wait etc.. global > timescale - 10global > killmove - 1 > 0goldweight (gold001 > 0.01)killable kids (race > uncheck child)all race base carry weight > 80 + health regen > 0.01remove starting spells (flames + healing) from 'player'tanning racks + smelters use smithing skill, cooking pots + spits use alchemylockpick weight - 0.1iTrainingNumAllowedPerLevel > 10 ^ these are some personal immersion tweaks I always include. No killcams and killable kids is a must. They're just small record edits but have a huge impact on gameplay. These are the best types of edits imo. Some essential ini tweaks are as follows - [General]bBorderRegionsEnabled=0sIntroSequence=sMainMenuMusic= ^ no invisible walls around edge of map, and no bethesda logos on boot. [interface] bShowTutorials=0uTicksToWait=16 ^ no tutorial popups on new game and 60FPS menus. [GamePlay]bEssentialTakeNoDamage=0 ^ no immortal NPCs. [Camera]fOverShoulderAddY=0.0000fOverShoulderPosZ=10.0000fOverShoulderPosX=0.0000fOverShoulderCombatAddY=0.0000fOverShoulderCombatPosZ=10.0000fOverShoulderCombatPosX=0.0000 ^ Perfectly centered 3rd person camera + 3rd person combat. [VATS]bVATSdisable=1 ^ No ranged killcams. [MapMenu]fMapWorldYawRange=3600.0000 ^ full 360 degree rotation on world map, this along with replacing the clouds with a blank mesh to have no clouds on the world map. Small QoL tweaks and getting Bethesda's hand-holdiness out of the way comes before huge overhauls and such. Otherwise, it's unwise to bloat your game with hundreds of mods that you may or may not even use with that character. It's a good idea to make a copy of the Skyrim directory after a clean install. So if you brick your game with excessive mods, just copy + paste the vanilla and start over. Edited August 20, 2022 by WanderRA
