Weynon Priory sheep + herder striking penalty?

I have been using the sheep and the herder in Weynon Priory as target practice to level my offensive skills. However I recently heard that continually committing unseen crimes can eventually corrupt the save game or make the game "unstable". So I was wondering if hurting the sheep and herder in Weynon Priory are actually crimes or not? Because my bounty does not increase at all.

Really? :O How do you know this?

Apparently, she doesn't. I have had both of this Options on and i have some old saves. Really ancient. Maybe not three Years, but about two...

I'd be pretty upset if something makes my old saves splode.

Or maybe she's just bullshitting you :P

I'm positive!!!! and its because I frequent more forums than you do obviously.I state facts only, not wild conjecture.Just because you don't know it exists, doesn't mean it doesn't.Keep your rude and impolite comments where they belong.Inside your mouth.!!

Hex editing a savegame (Disclaimer: there is no understanding, yet, of what the byte in question does, other than that it causes and cures the problem depending on its value).

Quote of The other Felix: "The saved game files contain a four byte sequence that appears to be be continuously incremented during play, triggering the problem when it reaches a certain value (possibly when changing from FFFFFF48 to 00000049), and with values beyond that increasing its severity. The editing consisted of decreasing the value of the last byte in that sequence by using a hex editor on an affected save. I suspect that the problem will reappear once the 'magic' value is reached again, but that can probably be delayed indefinitely by further editing.

Here are 3 programs that will change the value (listed in order of first posting) :

1. RenderFred's program will modify all saves at once if you so choose link

2. Here is a program by Stoffe -mkb- (post #92, thread IV) link Link is broken,

3. zBobG's program can be used to examine, as well as fix, the byte link

4. For advanced users, Wrye's program, Wrye Bash, has, among its many features, a function for resetting the byte.

Calm down, it was a joke.

Now, these Problems don't seem to come up very often. Why not concentrate on the Sheep Question first.

Luckily, the Oblivion save can be recreated like no other Game in the World, except for maybe Morrowind.

never heard of that problem! Of course that still doesn't mean its possible.Could be from a certain mod installed could be caused by bad codecs, there are a numbe rof possibilities,if in fact it does exist!...which I doubt!
