more games performance, which atm is not very good but the 7770 should jump my game performance. i run 1842 x 1036 on my hdtv (to stop the taskbar dissappearing) and 1440 x 900 on my secondary screen which will soon be mounted in portrait mode to have text documents on for example guides to mods. maybe also how many mods i could run.

forgot to add in my hdds which are 250gb sata ii for os, 1000 gb for games and other stuff and 160gb hdd for general storage. i also have a dvd drive that is on its way out (will not write discs anymore and struggles to open.)

also is windows server 2012 r2 a could os for gaming. by default less services are running which in my opinion is better, the reason i am using this is because i got it free through college (uni).

The CPU will bottleneck any modern game, it may have been a decent CPU back in the day but now it's slower than a 40$ Celeron. I had a C2D E4500 overclocked to 2.97GHz (at that frequency it was faster than your Athlon) and it would crap out on pretty much anything I tried to play, especially Skyrim (also with a 7770). The number of mods you could run without the game stopping to a crawl would be some 50, but don't expect it to run smooth, or stable.

Personally, getting a new graphics card and RAM for that thing would be a waste of money. Hell, even getting a Pentium G2120 would be hell of an improvement over that Athlon (though it would still be crap). If you have money for components, you can get a decent gaming machine for under 500$ if you reuse what's useful from your current PC (like HDDs, PSU, case, etc.) that can handle what you intend to throw at it, though the actual price depends on where you live.

As for using Windows Server for gaming, I'm not sure if that'll work, that OS isn't designed for gaming at all and some thing might be incompatible with it, or it may need manual configuring. You can try and see.
