/data/textures

/data/meshes

are standart folders. The archmage robe retexture will simply replace an already existing .dds file and the other one is doing the same for an mesh.

The dragonpriest mod is wrongly packed its putting the /meshes folder not into /data.

Instead of manual installation of mods use mod organizer. Its the only mod manager I know which lets you install/uninstall mods without any trace. Now we need something similar for savegames + scripts and skyrim would be improved by 100%.

They're standard folders? But... I had to create them in the /data folder :ermm:

The dragonpriest mod is putting the meshes into data here aswell. I have the exact problem as Eferas, as it seems.

The archive of the dragonpriest mod doesnt have a /data folder. So either the mod manager is intelligent enough and places the files correctly or the files are somewhere else. Also the dragon priest mod is 1.5 years old, which is a good reason to stay away from it.

/textures and /meshes are (beside others) standart filepaths. You would see them if you unpack the .bsa files (bsa files are simply archives). You can check this in the virtual file system of mod organizer easily.

I already checked the bsa files with bsaViewer, to be sure that the filepaths was right, and it was. I also tryed with other mods: the esp works, but news armors and weapons are added in game, but mesh and textures are missing. I don't understand why the game can't read the standard folders of meshes and textures.

I just tried installing with Mod Organizer and it worked, even the dragonpriest one. With NMM it doesn't work though. Thanks.

edit: but I have to run the game through the mod organizer, not directly from the game folder. (And the dragonpriest mod is a little bugged, but I think that was expected due to its age)

Yeah you must use mod organizer to run skyrim (you can launch skyrim without mod organizer but it would be in vanilla state).

Remember that there are mods which you cant install with mod organizer (skse, enbs, umm... whatever).

Anyway, with mod organizer you have the best tool existing for skyrim. It will save you tons of time somewhere in the future. Might be a bit complicated at start but its worth it.
