Fallout 4-like Armor/Clothing system

I am already making meshes for a mod like this. I have gained some skill in Outfit Studio, my primary tool for this. I could just use some pointers for the rest. Not even asking for someone to work on it for me, just point me in the right direction regarding the other aspects and I'll put the work in.

I am aware of a few mods that add modular pieces, like Modular Clothing System and some others that add pauldrons, but I wanted to try something a bit more like Fallout 4. That would be:

Base layer(underclothes)

Eyewear

Mask

Head

Torso

Left Arm

Right Arm

Left Leg

Right Leg

I think even that alone is feasible. There are enough free slots available to do it I think. If possible, I'd like to see if there can be even further customization, like forearms and hands, as well as feet and shins being separate. To push it even further, even go as far as have separate pants and shirts for more mix-and-match potential.

I fully understand that this will require new meshes as lots of the original meshes have missing parts underneath, like sleeves and pants that end where the armor covers them. I also know it will require work with partitions, which needs both the .nif and the creation kit to make it work properly.

I know that Skyrim uses three partitions for the body, that is, body, forearms, and feet. If I can make this work, I believe I would have to add more partitions, at least one for pants and one for shirts, and then maybe more considering shirts with and without sleeves. I figure I'll be pushing the limit of what Skyrim can do but I have a suspicion that it is doable based on what I know.

I know some armors are so bulky, like Orcish armor, that making them modular is a tall order, as it would require extensive work to cut them up remodel them. For those types of armors, I can have the armor take up multiple slots, similar to how Fallout 4 has outfits that take up multiple armor slots, forcing incompatible items to unequip when the multi-slot outfit is equipped.

For Example, Iron Armor has exposed arms and a variant with pauldrons, while others have integrated pauldrons. Say, if a player has Iron Armor with other pauldrons equipped, equipping a set with integral pauldrons will force the other pauldrons to unequip due to taking up the slots for those pauldrons. Could potentially rework the mesh of some of the pauldrons so they attach to the player's arms instead of the cuirass. I would say wizard's robes would have to operate like an outfit that takes up more slots, both because of their bagginess that would cause clipping, and for gameplay balance purposes.

Some gauntlets don't lend themselves to operating as a separate forearm and hand piece due to their integrated geometry, like Ivory gauntlets, so they would have to take up both hand and forearm slots. However, some may work if the meshes are separated, such as Dawnguard gauntlets, which can be cut up to look like a vambrace piece, and potentially be used with a set of gloves.

The extent of the modularity would definitely conflict with a lot of mods I think, as we are talking about using up a lot of the free slots that other mods use, but for this sort of mod to shine, sacrifices have to be made. Hopefully it could work with Bandolier - Bags and Pouches at least, but I may create my own bandolier or bag system instead.

If everything goes perfect I hope to have armor and clothing have as many as these slots:

Base layer top and bottom(underclothes)

Base layer top

Base layer bottom

Head

Eyewear

Mask

Neck

Shoulder(s)

Torso

Waist

Left Arm

Right Arm

Hand(s)(Left/Right)

Left Leg

Right Leg

Feet(Left/Right)

Bag/Satchel/Backpack

Bandolier

I think with all this I'm really pushing it and if it's too much I can at least dial back the base layer and make some other concessions to make it work.

That would be a great mod to have, it in fact is very much like the system used in Morrowind. there must be some YouTube videos or old articles floating around on the internet that might help you out with which slots to use an so forth. Even better if you have a copy of Morrowind you could open it up in the Creation Kit and look around in there.

I have Morrowind. Which creation kit or does it matter?
