tacitus59
I disabled FOSE (beta 6 wasn't yet available) and its associated mods. I have had a save game/game corruption problem associated with mods (in particular "A note easily missed") which happened about an hour after installing the new patch. Interestingly enough it caused a saves to crash in megaton and in your house. I have gone back to an older save (after 1.5 but about 15 minutes before the problem save) and I can no longer replicate the problem. Don't know if this problem was associated with 1.5 or just the oft-mentioned random save game corruption that plagues Bethesda's gamebryo products. Wraiven
Well, I've disabled a couple of mods and am now able to play one of my saved games with minimal problems (at least as of last night). My other game crashes whenever I try to save and also whenever I try to enter my house in Megaton. I'm pretty sure the megaton house basement mod I'm using is probably what's causing this at least with that particular saved game. I didn't disable this mod because I didn't want to risk something weird happening and cause me to lose all my weapons/armor/etc stored in the basement. I've got 200+ hours put into that game so if that happened I would probably go ballistic. So I'm just going to leave that one alone for now. What basement mod are you using, I am using one that sounds like what you are using with weapons and ammo and such
starfifteen82
What basement mod are you using, I am using one that sounds like what you are using with weapons and ammo and such It's the My Megaton Basement mod v1.71. It has the weapon/armor storage room & sorting terminal, the bar, nuka cola quantumizer, pool table, etc. along with the weapons/monster trophy rooms. i would have to check who created it though as I can't remember who it is right offhand. i haven't posted about this issue in the mod's comment section yet, but I plan on doing so once I finish work today. tacitus59- I think some of the problems I had also resulted from the "note easily missed" mod. When I disabled that mod my situation drastically improved, with exception to my megaton house issue.
Mogymog
ook I take it back back to crashing after I thought I'd figured out why the saves where doing it. Now, its back to CTDing on saves, but only after I discovery new places. Which really confuses me, cause I'm pretty much 100% sure I got nothing that effects newly discovered places, unless its being a jerk with map marker mod. Which I hope its not.. I got no idea, if I should be mad, or just frusterated really. Update: Ok for me, after doing some intensive testing.. Apperntly on my rig its a problem between The unofficial patch and Marts Mutant Mod.. I play with on no problem, the other on no problem. Both on, save crashing all over. So for the moment, seems problems are fixed, but who knows what'll happen in 20 minutes with more testing.

Mogymog
that they should, but not gonna happen. At least FO:LV will be done by someone else, so maybe there wont be nearly as many problems like this. We can only hope.. But, I'd really like it, if Beth would release a 1.5.1 patch or a hotfix really SOON so we can all go back to our normal lives of slaughtering the inhabitants of the wasteland. YDO
I had much the same crash on save problems with the 1.5 patch until I disabled the Fairfax Apartment mod I was using. Now it's smooth sailing.
Wraiven
I have found that to get my game to work, I had to do the following, but sadly some will not like this idea as it entails starting your game over. Uninstall fallout 3Remove all files on your computer related to fallout 3 (look for your saves, and where you have any data stored)Reinstall Fallout 3Update to patch 1.5 Install the Unofficial Fallout 3 Patch Click here to get itAdd your mods in (if your not sure on mod loading order ask on this or beth's forums)Start new game Sadly starting a new game after having over 250 played hours really hurt, BUT i no longer have any issues with crashing. metalhed13
After disabling certain terrain-altering mods (player homes and shops), I haven't had any issues at all with Patch 1.5. I am still running all my armor, clothes, weapon and hi-rez terrain texture mods. This is just my opinion but I don't blame Bethesda for this as I don't believe it is their responsibility to make sure every unofficial mod works with the game when releasing a patch. The modders will just have to update their mods.

The modders will just have to update their mods. That's obvious, and you're definitely right from an ideal perspective, however seeing how for many people the issue comes from the interaction between the new patch and several - completely unrelated between them - house/shop mods is pretty fishy. I myself THINK that by removing the my club house mod the issue can be solved (still I'll have to start a new game and keep my fingers crossed). From the early look of it, it seems that they altered some constants which aren't screwing up just a bunch of random mods because of some specific data overlap, but kinda every mod in that category. Which - if it's the truth - is lame indeed.
