Lower Niben oversight

Has anybody noticed the mighty galleons docked in the Waterfront? Built to sail the open seas but with no-way to get there... Check it for yourself, where the Lower Niben meets Topal bay the water is 5 inches deep and theres a great big concrete walkway blocking access to the open ocean. Is there a mod which rectifies this oversight? Because unless I can get it altered, my mod in progress will become pretty useless.

This is a huge oversight!! I have been curious about the makeup of the Niben for some time now. It almost seems as though the game was being developed with a tidal effect originally then it was dropped, leaving it at low tide. Lake Rumare waterline seems low, both compared to the maps and by just walking its shores. There is a barren zone, like what one would see at a reservoir when it's water level is down. A natural lake doesn't have that zone because its water level is constant and the plant life grows right to the waters edge. Awe well, I digress.

Here is a breakdown of the Niben River navigability issues I have noticed:

- The 'dam' or sand bar crossing the river at Leyawiin is the most obvious and has been fixed in a mod, however the fix ads a low stone bridge, the bridge would prevent ship passage too. A high bridge like the main stone arch bridge or draw bridge solution here would be needed to allow the tall ships to pass. I'd like to see a city wall style tower on the far side of the river with a high arch crossing the river connecting to actuall city wall, this would allow river crossing as well as good defensive fortifications for the river mouth.

- The low flung bridge crossing the Niben just north of Leyawiin, my suggestion would be to replace it with a low tech timber draw bridge of some sort, that way it could remain small and low slung, yet allow ships to pass.

- Just north of the main arch bridge towards the west as Lake Rumare clocks around the Imperial City island there is a section of shallows that would wreck any tall ship attempting to pass through. A deep channel needs to be cut through this section.

- The wood bridge on the north end of Lake Rumare also prevents ship passage. This would be a great place to develop a draw bridge mod that could then be applied to other low flung bridge locations.

I have been very impressed with the modding efforts of the folks here, amazing stuff. I'd love to see a full blown Navigable Niben overhaul mod.

Cheers :)
