EnvyMachinery
I've been trying to figure this out for days. I want to make it so that anything I change on one side of a mesh also happens on the other side of the mesh, such as moving vertices, creating new vertices, and adding/removing faces. I've tried the mirror modifier, but applying the mirror only duplicated the other verticies and they still move independently. If I don't apply the modifier, then I can move the vertices exactly the way I want, but I can't apply faces in between them. The "X mirror" and "topology mirror" options under mesh options do nothing and launch one of the vertices to the opposite end of the axis, respectively. I know that this ability exists because I've somehow gotten it to work in the past, but I have no idea how to do it.
neomonkeus
You need to use the mirror modifier.Choose whatever axis' you want to mirror across, which which will be mirror through using the object centre.Enable clipping which will join vertices which lie on or near the axis of symmetry.
