Roachbait
ok...here it is : when I open the pause menu, then go to the mod configuration menu and open it, everything looks fine...just wait, it's coming...if I open, for example, Project Nevada rebalance...or any other menu in mcm that has a slider or second menu choice (I can check and uncheck boxes all day long..Yay!)...if I click on it...nothing happens...the option is not selected...then MCM locks up...only way out of it is to hit esc...then the pause menu s faded...and unusable, save for the mod menu nightmare...I applied the mcm bug fix...it obviously didn't fix THIS...I recently had my drivers updated for my graphics card, which reset all my display settings for every game I have (thanks Steam....), yes, I validated the files for the game...now unless its a load-order issue...my next move is to totally reinstall the whole game and start all over...I'm sort of at my wits-end...I've been fiddling with this for over a week now...so I haven't even been able to get to play at all...FNVEdit is little help...Boss won't arrange my load order either...says it can't find some file to write to, so it's useless until I somehow manage to figure that puzzle out too...I use NMM ONLY...no Fomm or Fook or Geck...or nifSkope...just a n00b here...This all used to work perfectly...had my game set up real nice...now, its nothing but a headache...here's my load-order, in case if that helps...I've disabled and enabled everything ten times now, moved stuff all over, and read dozens of forum entries, and watched countless tutorials...nothing seems to shine the light on this issue. drithius
Your menu files are screwed up. No amount of new new drivers and load order tinkering is going to fix them. Without knowing your installation order, I can only advise you uninstall any mods that alter your menus (darn, MCM, PN, Recon, oHUD, uHUD, etc), delete your menus subfolder, redownload it from Steam, then reinstall your mods in the following order: Darn->PN->MCM->Director's Chair Stuff->oHUD->uHUD I'm not sure where Advanced Recon falls into that, but certainly prior to uHUD. Roachbait
ok...thanks...tried it... a "no-go", it still did it....tried to wait until I left the Doc's house, and it either crashed leaving Doc Mitchells, or just locked up..so I just reinstalled the whole game and ditched NMM and mods...maybe, some day, they can make the mods a little more compatable with each other and avoid issues like this...or a manger that can handle the files better, but, that would probably be asking too much...maybe it was a corrupted file in one of my downloads...maybe after another 500+ hours of playing this, again, i'll want to try to mod it again...until then...I don't know...thanks for trying to help anyways... drithius
Did you try this on a clean save or a brand new install? A clean save is a save file made when you have none of the mods you're reinstalling loaded. If you just reinstall/reactivate mods outside of the game and then load up your old (corrupt) save, you won't get anywhere. Failing that, you could always try installing mods a couple at a time until you encounter a problem... Edited November 5, 2013 by drithius
Roachbait
Sorry to take so long to get back...I did a "clean save" load from a few of the previous dozen or so saves I had...same thing for all of them...the Mod Configuration Menus still locked up on any second menu access in the menu itself. Even after disabling the mod, uninstalling it, deleting the ini files, restarting the game to rebuild the ini's, exiting the game, reinstalling the mods for the huds (in correct order, along with the edits to the ini's for Darned UI, etc...) all the way back to, and including Darnified UI. Tried "clean saves", and restarting a new game...no adjustable hud, I could select the option...but nothing moved with the numpad keys, or aswd keys, hitting "5" to reset was even disabled, I could click on "ok", but nothing happened there either, had to hit esc to get back out, to a faded pause menu(again)(maybe a bad copy of MCM...or NMM, itself...???)...so I figured it wasn't even worth going into reinstalling Project Nevada, MCM was already being "wonky"...and if ohud and uhud were part of it, it would be better to just start all over with everything...I bought the game disc, so reinstalling the whole game takes like three minutes...(compared to 5 hours if you go through Steam...no thanks...I'd already spent the better part of my time off for a week trying to fix this...) checked the ini's...they had been set back to "crazy, with missing sections"...again...weird...I totally uninstalled EVERYTHING tied to FNV at that point, I had had enough by then, and it was late (early morning by then, like 6 am...I work 'til midnite...). After reinstall of the whole mess, and closely (and I mean pause and replay a few times...) watching Gophers videos yet one+ more times, it seems to be working right, so far...going to avoid PN for a while, it has nice toys and all that...but, I can get most of those options as separate mods, If I want to, or just live without them...as they say..."It is better to have loved, and lost...than to have never loved at all..." I can go through it all over now, and find everything all over again...the journey is the best part...and sometimes starting all over new is better than trying to save something that's already dead anyways... Anyway...thanks for trying to help, at least I learned something... Roachbait
