Whispered into the Void (Recruiting)

I've been mapping out some general ideas for this mod for a while, but the scope of such a project is beyond my limited capabilities. I am learning scripting, and this mod will not require a lot of work in the way of custom models (Well, at the moment - there will be some custom content needed later down the line).

Since I work 60 hours a week, I spend most of my breaks working on plot, general global ideas, and general wishlisting. I know it's typically not good taste to request a mod by posting a wishlist if you can't do something yourself, but if you'll look at the site I created in the last few hours in order to house such a large project (http://www.arsatweb.com/wordandthevoid/) you'll see that I'm willing to put in a bit of effort on my end, even if it means learning to do it all myself and merely taking suggestions and tips from other modders.

I haven't modded anything since Red Alert, so 3D modeling is something that I'm not quite able to grasp. This mod is being made with vanilla Fallout 3 content as much as possible. I don't want users to have to purchase additional DLC in order to play.

If you're not familiar with the Word and the Void series, or the more recent Genesis of Shannara series (This mod falls a few years prior to the latter series, though a lot of lore will be taken from the prior), I suggest you look up Terry Brooks at your local library.

If you wish to join the project, feel free to join that site. The site is _only_ for people who wish to contribute to the mod. It is in no way shape or form meant to prevent members from posting and being all around useful in Nexus, or to replace the Nexus as a modding site. Think of it as a workspace. All beta releases will be hosted on my own serverspace (To help save you guys bandwidth here) but I'll be posting links in the downloads section.

In the event that no one is interested in assisting me with this mod, it will still be released, it'll just take years instead of months.

And we won't be just looking for modders. Some people who wish to contribute won't have any idea about how to create things in a true close to canon manner for this particular post apocalyptic universe. So fans of the series (Preferably those with reference copies or who can get them from a library) are welcome to join too for plot brain storming, side quests, dialogue writing, etc. Also, once each major quest chain is complete, anyone who can voice act is welcome to work on the dialogue with us so we can start lip syncing the characters. This is going to be a full conversion, taking you from the Capital Wasteland of Washington DC to the state of Washington, centered on post apocalypse Seattle.

Right now, I am working on a general terrain map for bodies of water, coast lines, and elevation. Once the map is complete, it'll be the foundation to start developing one cell at a time.

If you've gotten this far in reading this, and are interested, then I thank you for your time. again, the site for hosting the majority of work on this project is http://www.arsatweb.com/wordandthevoid/

Forgive me if the website's a bit buggy. I haven't used that particular content management system in a while and may have missed some of the basic filler content.

If you have questions, you can email me (It's more reliable than PM's as I often times come here just for reading and article links) at webmaster at arsatweb.com. Just make sure to include a subject header about Whispered into the Void or Nexus so I know you're not spam. (Or just post here. XD)

(@ admins - couldn't find any rules regarding mod announcements, so if I have posted incorrectly please let me know and I'll take steps to correct it. I've looked through every rule page I could find and could find no regulatory rules. So I just posted here due to this board's description.)
