Modders leaving the Community because of the Moronity...

I recently reinstalled my Oblivion and was searching if there where some Newer Versions of the Mods i use.

For some of them, there aren't because the Modders left the Community, closed down their Sites and asked any other Hoster to kill the Downloadlinks.

Now, why do they do this? Ok, People like Alienslof or Giskard got a lot of Hate because People are stupid. But why the hell would Alienslof for example care if some People don't want the equippable Boners? Ok, so some People think there "Gay" which may be the Case if you'll use them in a Mod where you can bang Men with your male Character.

 

In my Opinion, some of Alienslofs work is a bit disturbing. Anatomically correct Zombies complete with decaying Giblets are not to my liking. So i wont download that. Maybe i write a comment that this isn't a good Place to upload that because the "adult" check isn't the best security measure in the World. But i wouldn't write her any hatemail even if any adolescent child of mine, which i have yet to produce, somehow sees some of those Things.

 

People who spam her with Hatemails should be punched in the Face, hard enough to make the Skull shatter.

But sadly you can't. They are thousands of miles away, you don't even know them. Which is exactly the Point. Why do you care about their hatred towards you? For all you know, they could be mentally ill.

 

There are several Reasons for writing hate comments:

 

People let off Steam. People who are to stupid to find some other possible vent, go on the Internet and flame People they don't know and care about. Which is "good" i guess, its better then acting like an Idiot with the People they do know.

So, for every hate mail you get, you probably saved a poor Wife from another beating.

 

People misunderstand the "reason" of the Mod. The first little Mod i ever made was something nobody cared about. I wanted to make conjuration somewhat useable. The first thing i got was a Comment of some bloke who thought i wanted to make a complete overhaul of the magic System. In that regard, my little mod is as shitty as he thought it was, for there are way better mods out there for that.

 

 

In Aliensslofs case, there are some Mods which are pretty disturbing if someone with a very very very unstable Mind comes across them. Some People think that God will smite us all someday for even being on the Internet, a place where we can see scandily clad Women or sometimes even naked ones!

If those kind of People see a mod where you can equip a Boner their Head may explode.

Now this should be obvious; if you make any Kind of mod that violates some Morons code of Ethics, they will hate you for that. Now, a Boner on an english speaking Site? You know you are going to get the hatred of some mentally ill "Sarah Palins". You'll just have to life with the Fact that these People hate things like the very Existence of People like Alienslof.

 

 

Some People hate Mods and Modders. In General. They think that if the Modders stop Modding, the Company who releases a Game will be forced to come up with some more creative Stuff.

Which is stupid of course. The unmoddable Version of Oblivion on the xbox360 sells like it gives out free Blowjobs and Pudding.

But some PC Users and TES Players already know TES5 is going to be great just because it probably will be modable.

But the Modhaters feel that they have to do something. Which in that Case is flaming the more creative Modders to death. Well, you have to give them some Credit though; they think they see something which should be changed in their Opinion and they'll do something about that.

You'll have to give them at least that.

 

 

There are also some "Modder-haters". They don't hate the Mods in itself, but the Modders for not doing something more "useful" with their time. Well, in my Opinion, Some People, like Alienslof and Giskard, really should stop modding and apply for a Job at Bethesda if they haven't already done so.

 

But modding is Fun. Only my Boss has something to say about what i do in my Freetime and then only if it interferes with my Job. All other People can go screw themselves.

But at the very least, there is a Reason why this People flame on Modding boards. Its a stupid Reason, but at least its a Reason.

 

 

 

On the Top of my Head, these are the Reasons i can think of for flaming Modders. As i have said, those People actively working on spreading hate and destroying some Modders should be punched in the Face.

But there are two Sides; one of them is the Modder him/herself who lets that hatred come to close. People will flame on boards for the aforementioned Reasons and sometimes just because they're Assholes.

 

So what? Why would anybody take this criticism so seriously? You know there are People around on the internet you'd rather don't have to interact with. So don't.

 

Modders should not let these People drag them down. For Alienslof and Giskard: You let them win. Those People who flamed you till you finally succumbed are celebrating the big Victory. You could have discontinued the Mod because there is no Way *everybody* is going to love it and even if someone made the perfect Mod then People will flame the creators for the very reason its so perfect. Because of the Reasons i mentioned and/or because they're assholes.

 

By removing the Mods from every Site, you are actively working *for* those Morons *and* making People who liked your Work sad ;(

 

 

If you'll look at it this way you'll that this may not have been the most intelligent Move to make.

If there is something people will enjoy doing, there will always be people who will enjoy destroying that thing.

 

I'm not up to date as to why giskard has quit, but Alienslof had explained quite clearly why she left, and the flamers were only one part of the problem. Most of us mod for fun, and don't really care what anyone else thinks. We mod for ourselves. Trolls get banned, and aside from only a few, high profile modders who have been less encouraged in releasing their work publicly, most don't really care outside the nuisance that these trolls create. To suggest that modders would be driven away is absurd, and only serves to give trolls some belief in being successful.

 

There's already a few other threads on the topic, another one does not help.

Modders are under NO obligation to share their mods. End of story. The fact that they do is nice (big ups to you all - us talentless folks thank you!).

 

All the rants and spiels and such that show up can be answered with that small reply.

On Alienslofs Site, she made it pretty clear that she left because of Years of hatred that she got.

 

Contrary to other Threads, this is not a Plea to get them back to modding.

This is supposed to be Criticism for leaving. No Matter how much hate you'll get, going away is exactly what they want you to do.

Furthermore, as i have explained, some of that "hate" may not even be that kind of Hatred that makes you believe you're the only Person on the Planet who's Brain works properly.

 

But then again, even if it is: Leaving is not a good Solution. Taking all the Mods down certainly isn't because with that your actively working on alienating People who liked the Mods.

With "Kvatch Aftermath" i came to a dead end. Now, maybe i am too stupid to get past the "bring back the stolen item" quest where you have to bring something back that was stolen from Kvatch after the great Gate Attack. But now i can't even look it up. I can't look at a walkthrough and then go "aaah, thats how its done, i should've been able to figure *that* out!"

 

And thats not because of the retard-Squad flaming Giskard, thats because Giskard closed down the Site.

 

Sucks for me, sucks for People who made alterations to the Mod or even full blown Mods to follow up, sucks for everyone who likes a very well done Mod Experience. Sucks for everybody in the World except for those who spam Hatemail.

 

 

This is just a humble Suggestion: Withdrawing everything may not be the best move.

 

Now i'm off to download and archive everything about Kvatch rebuilt and Lost Spires, in case the team retard tries to attack them as well -.-

Vagrant I think said it clear enough.Its been made clear more than once by the moderators to leave the Slof subject alone. we will always have stupid inconsiderate people who can't mod flameing others work.Thats how it is. Now can we please move along on this and let sleeping dogs lay.
