Oblivion Gates Not Shutting

Hey, I started a 2nd character to play a bunch of mods with and he's level 32 or something and I've only gone into 3 Oblivion Gates.

 

I'm pretty sure the first one closed just fine, but the last 2 I've had problems with (and any others that I go to)

 

Once I take the sigil, the animation of fire and light plays and the tower starts to fall apart, then nothing happens.

The animation stops and I'm stuck at the top with the sigil in my bag. Everything looks white too - the walls and certain things.

The only way for me to get out is to `TGM and jump to the bottom (lol)

 

Is there a console command to manually shut gates, or do you know of this problem and any solution to fix it? I have SI and the latest update patched.

I have a decent sized mod list (about 30) but not all of them are active, although nothing that really messes with vanilla besides Midas Magic, Exnem Body Replacer, and a few various quest/wilderness leveled creature mods. Everything is compatible and works fine, I don't get any problems from the mods I have activated, and none of them edit the Plane of Oblivion in the slightest.

 

I have WCGL and Creature Intensity mods, the last which edits certain Daedra textures & meshes. I don't think that's the problem though. (No they aren't both active at the same time)

 

I would really be happy if somebody knew a console command that would close a specific Oblivion gate so I could just shut them after I'm done.

 

Any other help is appreciated

Give us a mod load order list and maybe we can find a fix. Just closing the gates may cause problems with the story line.

 

How to use OBMM to make a load order list for posting.

 

Open OBMM - if you don't have it, get it. It is needed for a lot of things when you work with mods.

 

Look on the right, you will see a box with 'Import/Export'. Click that.

Then select the first option, 'View Load Order'

 

A new window will open with only your active mods listed in their load order. Any unchecked mods will not appear in this list.

 

Use your mouse to highlight the entire list, then left click on the highlighted list.

 

A box will open with Cut, copy paste.

 

Select copy – DO NOT SELECT CUT!

 

Now you can close the window and close OBMM (This might take a few minutes as OBMM takes a while to close.)

 

Go to where you want to put the load order list – I recommend creating either a text document or a word processing document and naming it load order and the date

(load order 6-22-08.txt)

 

Then open that document, place your cursor at the beginning and right click. Select paste.

 

This should copy your load order into the document.

 

Now, to get the load order into a post, open the forum, find where you want to place the load order list and paste it. The copied text will be inserted where you place the mouse cursor.

From the Read Me of the UOP:

 

Bug: Picking up the Sigil Stone in an Oblivion plane doesn't do what it's supposed to: the player stays put, the area fills with white fog, and the gate doesn't close.

Solution: For some unknown reason the Oblivion plane you're in loses its hook to the gate in Tamriel you used, best solution is if you are afflicted with this bug is to open your console and type in coc AnvilBay and you'll end up in Anvil's bay. Also this may be avoidable if you never reload while inside Oblivion planes and then go back into the same gate. If you have to reload while in an Oblivion gate quit the game entirely and restart it to ensure that memory is properly flushed out.

 

It is posible to get out, although quite difficult with all that white, but the gate won't close....

 

For my second game I got the mod - Fewer Random Oblivion Gates - & although it does not address

the white out problem it my be worth looking into if you don't want gates reopening, or simply don't

like so many of them.

It has seven options (esp's) for shutting gates, keeping gates from reopening, and limiting the number

of non main quest gates.

I am using the version that is supposed to open only the 16 main gates. So far so good, but I have

only done 3 so far.

Just type the name - fewer random oblivion gates - on the file search page.

If that's what you are talking about.

 

Load order - just for starters - After Oblivion esm:

SI

Knights

All the other DLC's

Better Imperfect Water may be better after Alive Waters if Alive Waters changes water clarity.

I usually group all of my landscape mods together, and load them before bodies and armour,

but the main thing to remember is that what loads next takes precidence of what came before it.

ie. - the better H2O/ Alive Waters suggestion.
