pyrokatz01
my textures, meshes, sound, and other files are still in BSA file format and remain so after iv un and reinstalled oblivion multiple times what did i do?
AzirAphale001
Oblivion will still recognise files stored in a BSA. You only need to extract them if you wish to mod the game (and possibly not even then).
SpacemanSpIiff
Yea you need not worry about the BSA's....theyre fine.
bben46
The bsa files are Bethesda's own compressed file format. Oblivion recognizes them and uses them as is. The game install does not decompress them as it is not needed. So what you are seeing is not a problem, it's normal.
pyrokatz01
so I just move the mods sound files into the data folder right
LoginToDownload
Yup. Oblivion can access things in BSAs and outside of them.
AzirAphale001
OBMM will install mods automaticaly, which reduces to chance of something going wrong. I've never used it, but most people swear by it.

pyrokatz01
no what i mean is um i to uncompress or unzip my meshes and other files in the data folder so that i can mod them or find a way to mod them as they are now though i prefer the first option
bben46
OBMM has a bsa uncompressor, look for Utilities on the right side, then BSA Browser. It will allow picking out a single file, or multiple files or the entire archive from the BSA.
