Merging Meshes

When you combine things like armor/clothes in Blender, you need to copy the mesh nodes (entire branch) onto a cleared up skeleton from an existing armor/clothing mesh. Programs like Blender and even 3DS re-arrange the skeleton nodes and screw things up for the game.

I would recommend removing the armor branches from the default leather, and then copying the branches of your modified pieces onto the original scene root. The existing tutorials on Nifskope should clarify what I'm saying.

@gdarknight: thank you. using your advice, i copied the individual branches from the leather armour and the thieves tool belt, and i came up with this (see attachment). once again it looks great in nifskope. i followed all the instructions regarding "remoiving bogus links" and "strippifying the mesh".

still no joy in-game.

i am starting to think its the way i am using TESCS. This armour is a straight copy of the normal leather armour with a new ID and name. I have simply dropped a copy of it outside Best Defence in the Imperial City Market District. When my chatacter picks it up and wears it, she loses her torso altogether (as before).

I am wondering if there is something even more simple that I have missed.....

thanks to all who replied and helped with this mod. its only a small things but it adds to the atmosphere. here is a shot of the full armour in game (see attachment). the only problem i have now is a clipping issue with the bow and quiver. i have not been able to find a way to reposition either for only this armour. i fear there may not be a method....
