Remove the two patches of hair from the "unladylike" haircut

Hi there.

So "unladylike" is about the only female haircut I like for my character, and I can't stand these two patches of hair that hang on the left side of the Courier.

Here's what I'm talking about. It just looks out of place. Is there a mod that removes this ? If there isn't, could someone be so kind as to do it ?

Thanks !

OK here are two file mods. Assuming I have the right hair style (which I think it raiderf05) it should remove the two patches. The first (UnladyLikeNoTexture.rar) simply changes the texture for the two patches of hair for the close shaved texture, but that will leave some of the mesh and may be noticeable. The second, removes the whole mesh that are the two patches (UnladyLikeNoMesh.rar). Installation is simply copying the two files in the rar (an esp and a bsa) into your data directory and selecting the esp in your launcher of choice.

Try out the mesh mod (UnladyLikeNoMesh.rar) first and if it works don't worry about the texture change (UnladyLikeNoTexture.rar). Use only one or the other. Untested in game.

Hey there, thanks for lending your help.

Well, it's a bad news / good news situation. Bad news is, both mods have misfired and I believe I have no mod that could potentially interfere since yours is the first I installed that changed a haircut fundamentally.

Good news is, it looks hilarious. This is the haircut with the mesh removed from it :

I am now in possession of the ultimate mohawk, and all shall kneel before me !

And this is the haircut with recolored texture :

Sorry for all the annoying links but I'm fairly new here and I haven't found the "spoiler" button yet, so I wouldn't feel very good about making a post two kilometers long.

Is this a known issue, do you know what's causing it ? Maybe one of my mods ? I'm doubtful, but I could make a list if you want.

Thanks again for lending me a hand.

Yeah, that's not good :/ I seriously doubt it's a mod conflict. I removed only that part of the mesh, so I'm guessing the EGM file freaked out. I don't have much experience with hair and hats especially in re: to the EGM file (tried to make one, but the tool that does it crashes on my pc). Not too sure where to go from here.

Devin I had the same problem a few days a go make sure the mesh has the correct shader flags in nifSkope as blender messes them all up when you edit it:

Egms and hat hair are a bit temperamental in New Vegas. To get them to work you need to pack the mesh in a BSA with the egms otherwise the game doesn't detect the egms. If you do want egms PM me since I finally got the conformulator to run and it literally takes seconds to make them

Thanks brother, that is some invaluable info on both the shader and bsa. I just assumed it would default to the EGM in the meshes bsa. I havn't had much experience with hats/hair/headgear, so thanks for saving me a headache

It might use the default egms if they are in the bsa it just doesn't like using loose egms I think.
