Deleted910962User
That freezing is starting to get on my nerves. :wallbash: Every house in grayditch has that freeze thing in them and also megaton has some houses where that freezing happens.. when in fullscreen only way to quit the game is to either shut down my computer or end task the game blindly, I do the latter one. And even in that player's personal megaton house that freezing happens.. and it happens when ever it wants.. sometimes after 10 seconds and sometimes after 1 minute. Only way so far to work around in those freezefested houses is to save constantly so my progress with picking up object wouldn't be for nothing. :wallbash: Tried turning off anti-aliasing and anistropic filtering and it didn't change nothing with the freezes. And windowed mode is only good for quiting the game easier when that freezing happens. It ain't the ffdshow either because I don't have it installed. It isn't a sound problem either because I allready tried shutting down the codecs and then playing the game inside a house and still got that freezing. Deleted910962User
Not very helpful, are we? :verymad: Ok, for me it doesn't matter anymore but for others it matters (who have had the same problem with freezings). Anyways, I found this thread: http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1363362&page=2 "Edit the "FALLOUT.INI" file located in Documents and Settings\Username\My Documents\My Games\Fallout3 Make a backup of the INI file before making any changes to it.Search for "bUseThreadedAI=0" and change the value from 0 to 1.Add another line under this and paste in "iNumHWThreads=2" The result should look like this in the ini file:bUseThreadedAI=1iNumHWThreads=2 Save changes and run the game." I think that did the trick removing those freezes from place like Lucas Simms house or Player's house (for example) for me. 8) Haven't had a single freeze after doing that. quijeros
Actually, I'm really glad you addressed this because I've been having the exact same problem with my game. Any small building I entered in Grayditch always caused the game to freeze, and it annoyed me to no end. In Point Lookout, I experienced much of the same in the lighthouse, the Sacred Bog, and the mansion's bunker. This fix has eliminated any freezing problems I had before, so thank you for directing me to this.
spacetimecontinuu
Five years later, this thread is still saving game experiences...thanks a bunch, OP. I'd nearly given up hope of ever enjoying this game again!
32pistolman
2/8/16 I THOUGHT IT WAS MY MODS...I uninstalled then reinstalled with NO mods and the game was still freezing every 30 seconds to every 3 mins. Areas such as GreyDitch would instantly freeze. Reinstalled with no mods, I was about to give upon the game. Then I tried the changing "bUseThreadedAI=1" & adding "iNumHWThreads=2" trick. And it BOOM like magic it worked/s. Didn't freeze once for over 3 hours. Runs perfect, now I can start adding mods again :)
Chadt
Did the "bUseThreadedAI=1 iNumHWThreads=2" fix. And it's still crashing. Any continued fixes?
