I had always thought the lack of something sinister in the only cemetary in the game was a little disappointing. I am a huge fan of zombie movies and I like the idea of a *MASSIVE* zombie infestation in the fallout world somewhere. I'm talking overwhelming numbers, 100-200 zombies, the kind of hopeless, desperate odds you see in a good zombie flick. Something you can really sink your teeth into and put that minigun or flamer to good use. So, today I learned how to insert tons and tons of ghouls into the Arlington cemetary. I duplicated approximately 150 +/- throughout the cemetary. Mostly ferals with a few glowing ones for good measure. This is primarily for my own enjoyment, as I'm a total sandbox player with 3 companions packing more firepower than was ever intended for the game. But I'd like to create a mod that makes use of all this empty space in a fun way that will challenge players of all types. So far it's been an really cool test of concept except for a few critical problems: 1. extreme drop in FPS caused by all the corpses, giblets and dismembered body parts. 2. crashes caused by my mod when I zone into buildings and unrelated parts of the game. 3. general inexperience. I realize all those eyeballs, eviscerated organs and dismembered limbs all have a rendering cost that cause a severe performance hit. I'm using marts mutant mod no corpses, but it's just not fast enough to despawn at the rate the horde of undead rushes you as I've things set now. Ideas to fix things: No one is going to want to lower their graphics settings to play this, so it needs to cause as little performance hit as possible. I want this mod to be fast paced and brutal to the extreme. I'm wondering if there is a way to modify the no corpses part of marts mutant mod to make the corpses go away faster? Is there a way I can pluck that particular bit of code that controls corpse de-spawning out of his (with permission), accelerate it, and insert it into my mod somewhere so it only affects arlington cemetary? It's highly probable I've set things up inefficiently to begin with. Basically what I did was inserted several types of ghouls from the actors list, cloned them, then selected en mass and duplicated in groups of 5 and spread throughout the cemetary.
