When I run Oblivion, the screen goes black signing that it's loading the opening video's before the loading of the title screen. But it doesn't show the video screens at all, it crashes to desktop at once.

 

I fixed my load order accordingly>

 

Oblivion.esm

Unofficial Oblivion Patch

<Weather/Environment/Sound Mods>

<Minor Mods/New Items/Houses/DLC's (Post-Completion)>

Despite doing this... It won't work.

 

SO HERE IS WHAT I DID!

 

I tried to turn off ALL my mods except the Unofficial Oblivion Patch and the Official Patches. This includes all the OMOD's too. I tried running Oblivion again, but it still crashes to desktop as soon as I doubleclick the icon after the screen goes black. Since I turned off all my mod's I don't think the load order would matter anymore which probably is not the issue I've got.

 

I am suspecting that the Error lies within the Base file this time. As I got an error message saying something about... "Error Oblivion.Exe"

 

Once in a while whenever I tried to enter Oblivion, I use to get this error message as this guy gets:

 

 

I will keep digging for clues to this ... Mystery. Meanwhile if you got any idea what's going on, please tell me.

Okay. I turned off ALL my mods this time. Not one mod staying online so it's not the mods that's the problem. It's either the files or the Base file that is corrupted or incomplete.

Are you using a no CD fix ? Oblivion doesn't like them.

 

OBMM has a BSA un-corrupter, you might want to run that.

 

I don't know if this will help, but worth a try now the mods are deactivated.

Reset the time stamp, and remove BSA edits with the archive invalidation utility.

Good news! I got ... Further than last time! I got past the "Loading the game and then crashing it right after clicking the exe" part! Apparently the BSA-Un corrupter had something going. Now however, it shows the Bethesda opening logo video. Then if I keep letting it play, it will eventually crash. You know when you see that Oblivion Loading Screen when it loads the title screen, before it loads 1% it crashes. And now I am using the load order listed above.

 

And no. I am using a CD, not a NO-CD FIX

SI should be at the top of the list right after UOP

I would be inclined to put all the other DLC's next, but don't have any - so....

 

When you turn the mods off only turn them back on in small groups.

Maybe 10 at a time. It will make it heaps easier to find the culprit.

 

btw- I doubt any one is going to read that huge conflict report.

Most of the time conflicts are not a problem. The report will point to mods that

do things to the same cell, or whatever, but unless those mods try and change exactly the same thing

then there is really no consequence.

Oh okay this is weird... Dark UId by Darn is the cause for me being able to get to the loading screen with the Oblivion Logo before the title screen. Without Darns Dark UI Mod I have the same problem as before. . . . . Now my circuits are all burnt.

I told you, i've tried turning all my mods off starting up the game with it's normal Vanilla. But even then it would crash after it goes to a black screen. I'm tired, i'll do some more digging tomorrow.

Yes, you did say you turned them off, but didn't say you removed any files

that came with the mods. Obviously you don't want to have to remove all the

files, but if a particular mod is suspect and has files other than the esp then

you may want to remove those files from the game folders.

I will repeat - files can cause problems even if the mod is deactivated.

remove the files completely. also remove all your mods and start over and heres why. First once you have a "clean" game ,no mods or any of their files. Add all you armors mods and clothing ,body and custom race mods, Now make a copy og your data folderso you have a back up!!!

 

add one mod,go in game and verify that it works,then add another and keep repeating this process.You do it this way one mod at atime so if you add one go in game and its borked,you can remove the mod that caused the problem because you know which one it is.

 

Adding a bunch of mods without checking is a sure way to disaster as you have found out.Please follow directions.we who take time to help others have learned all these things the hard way also and most of the time our advise solves the problem.

 

Its a time consuming process I know but in the end you'll have your game how you want it.
