SiniVII
I understand. I will try your method, it even sounds like it can save me some time! Thank you for the help! :)
SiniVII
Okay! I am deadly sure now that it's the base files! I cant start vanilla oblivion so I am going to re-install it again! EDIT: Oh my god...Not even a Re-install helps! I'm getting desperate! @_@ I re-installed oblivion from scratch and tried to run it, again the game crashes to desktop as soon as it starts... I'm starting to get clueless. Bluntly, I am at a loss. Oblivion worked perfectly before, so what can cause it to mess up like this...? I'm gonna check if some new software can cause the problem. When doing a reinstall, it's essential to completely uninstall the old game. Here's Bben46's guide: Uninstall/Reinstall The other thing you may want to check is if you have any interfering background processes A Clean boot (a totally reversible process) can help by clearing all unneeded processes, then test the game. If the game now runs better, you can use task manager to locate offending processes.
SiniVII
Thank you for answering but I fooled around a little and I fixed it! :) Turns out I just had to delete the Oblivion.Ini file located in My Documents/My games/Oblivion. Now I can start Mod Troubleshooting.
