linkrulesx10
Heya Guys I am currently having some problems with my oblivion. S'krivva and a few other NPC's, some from mods are not giving me their full list of options. Example when I talk to S'krivva all I get is the rumor option and that is it despite the fact she is my doyen. Now I am running FCOM, Better cities and a few other mods and these NPC's were working and now they are not. One of the things I am worried about is that I may have screwed something up with archiveinvalidated but I am not sure and apart from the occaisonal missing mesh on someones left hand (like I have seen it twice and a game reload fixes it) I am having no mesh or texture problems and I believe this is what that fixes. I would highly appreciate help thank you

dezdimona
General Load-Order GuidelinesHere are the guidelines that I adhere to, personally. ~ Unofficial Oblivon Patch should always be first on the list. The fixes are great, but most aren't essential, so if a mod overwrites them its not a big deal, and the fixes have the potential for screwing up other mods if loaded later. ~ Offical Content (DLC's) should be loaded last, until you complete all quests associated with them (that includes buying all furniture for the houses and whatnot). Once they're complete, they can be safely moved up in the list. This is especially important for Knights of the Nine, which will have some fairly major problems unless loaded last (unless you get the UOP for KotN) ~ Major overhaul mods (OOO, Frans, MMM) should be loaded near the end. That gives you the most complete experience with any of those particular mods. It also lets you carefully choose which other mods to load afterwards... only move mods that you know will conflict and that you want the changes from. For example, I have Improved Soul Gems below OOO because I know that OOO changes the icons of some of the SG's, and ISG needs to be below to show through. Some people will recommend putting larger mods first, but personally I disagree. There are a number of mods out there that make minor tweaks, and loading after a large mod will end up completely overwriting a chunk from one of the bigger mods because of the way conflicts work in Oblivion (even one minor change will take precedence over the entire record... for example, simply tweaking the speed of a weapon can cause every stat of that weapon to be retained to vanilla levels if loaded later). So basically, it stacks up like this... Oblivion.esmUnofficial Oblivion Patch<Minor Mods / DLC's (Post-Completion)><Major Overhaul Mod/Mods><Mods that specifically conflict with overhauls and need to take precedence><DLC's (Pre-Completion)> Expanded Load-Order Guidelinesby dev_akm I would extend this to include: Oblivion.esmUnofficial Oblivion Patch<Weather/Environment/Sound Mods><Minor Mods/New Items/Houses/DLC's (Post-Completion)><Major Overhaul Mods><Mods that specifically conflict with overhauls and need to take precedence><DLC's (Pre-Completion)><Quests><Compatibility Patches/UOMP/Merged Leveled Lists> And a special-case warning for Knights.esp (Knights of the Nine) -- you may not be able to move it earlier than some other mods (some people have had problems after moving it before OOO, for example). That's basically the structure I use and I have 140+ mods working well together. Another way of describing this (posted by DMan77):....Oblivionunoffical patchDeeper realism mods that add sights and soundsadded content like weapons/itemsgameplay changes, like 'must eat and sleep'The OOO typethe 'new begining' type mod................................................................................................... linkrulesx10
I have already gone through my mod order infact it was all working and my mod order hadn't changed. I was just posting it as it is something most people want to know. I have used BOSS to sort most of it and then followed that dvice to organise the rest of them. so I doubt it is a loading order. Could i have corrupted a file. The only two things I have done wasInstall and uninstall montana's sexy modAnd try to use archiveinvalidated, and then undid it. (I was doing it to help a friend who wanted to know how to use it and as I didn't now I thought I would try, although I didn't need ti myself)Through one of those two things I must have done something to screw my game up. What would the best way of restoring these NPC's and their functionality back.

I know I helped develope her. ok you need archive invalidadion if you useing mods, also if you removed sexy companion make sure you have removed all of her files. linkrulesx10
ok I have used OBMM's Archive redirection and this did not fix the problem Could you maybe what particular file has all the information in it?If so I could get a good version of that file and copy it across and see if it is the file or a setting problem. Thank you for your help so far :)
linkrulesx10
Is there anything I can do apart from completly reinstalling oblivion? As that is an option i REALLY do not want to have to do considering the mods and downloads and time put into characters. I would highly appreciate any help on this thank you. linkrulesx10
I just did a quick check and the shivering isles npc's seem to work...Could I have done something that screw up ocation oblivion gets its data from?Like say teleporting from the shivering isle to frostcrag, could that cause a problem? Will have to test that later don't have time right this moment :'(Turns out I did have the time and I just solved it! The problem was using the return to frostcrag spire spell from frostcrag reborn whilst inside the shivering isles. I just went back an older save when I was in teh shivering isles, walked out of it through the portal and no problems was to be had with the npcs :)
