hfd2 Posted September 21, 2022 Share Posted September 21, 2022 Does anyone know of any examples of nifs (either bundled with the vanilla game, or in mods) with a single bhkLimitedHingeConstraint with an axle on the z-axis joining bhkRigidBodys on the SKYL_STATIC and SKYL_CLUTTER collision layers that I can use a reference for modding? Basically something that physically works like a door. I'm trying to convert typical animated doors into physics objects that can be interacted with using HIGGS in VR. I've been following along with https://wiki.beyondskyrim.org/wiki/Arcane_University:Nifskope_Hinge_Constraints and using signwralchemyshop01.nif as a template with some adjustments, but after getting over the initial hurdles of not immediately crashing the game with a malformed nif and getting the doors to respond to physics at all, all I've been able to accomplish is either having it fall on the ground as an independent piece of clutter free of its static base, or else it'll fly off into the ceiling and spasm around endlessly trying to settle. I've spent several evenings playing with physics parameters and re-ordering nodes without any real luck and my last hope is that some object already exists in the game closer to what I'm trying to do.
