Sry, but what is the meaning behind this?

I mean this Game is 6 Years old and is well playable even on lower end rigs, with proper settings already.

It even runs well on the Switch and thats telling.

Your "Test Rig" is not low end, its simply ancient, with a 15years old CPU and a 12 years old entry level GPU etc...

and the result is basically unplayable.

Even the minimum specs required are almost as ancient, with a faster i5-2500k which is 11years old by now, but with faster DDR3 support and co.

The HD7870 is ten years old, as is the GTX660 and 6gigs of RAM are not to much to ask,

so i cant see the point to make it even cheaper than that for pretty much no benefit other than to play it on a calculator with aweful optics and framerates.

And i got the impression that this is rather to advertize your twitter and website than anything else...for some reason...

@*username*

Dude, where to start here...

*First: Nope, it doesnt make any sense whatsoever, it just more or less undercuts the already very low specs that are minimal required and it probably shows bigtime.

*Second: You "game" on an almost 10years old APU with f-ing integrated Graphics which uses your slow System RAM as video memory, when this was just starting to become a thing.

*Third: This thing was basically meant mainly for office rigs, not for gaming and uses a severly outdated tech and platform.

*Fourth: your APU and modern APUs, especially the now coming Ryzen 6000's (based on improved Zen3+ Cores(Zen3 powers the actual Ryzen 5000Series)) with integrated RDNA2 Graphics (powering the actual Radeon 6xxx(XT) Series), are entire Dimensions apart and modern APUs are somewhat playable, especially in E-Sports and older Games, like the Witcher 3 or Skyrim.

Speaking of Skyrim, which just turned 10 Years old, which your APU could barely bring over 30fps at the time of its release on 1080p medium so, that is telling everything you need to know.

So youre tryin to justify this, with a platform that was never meant for gaming in the first place and is based on weak tech (Piledriver Modules aka Bulldozer V2 aka 2Cores 4threads with CMT) that is a decade old, which is the Stoneages in comparison to today.

Apples and Oranges you know?

So if possible somehow, get a new Rig instead, even a good used one from the last maybe 5 years would do, but dont try break down games even further below minimum specs into uselessness, just to make them somehow 'playable' on tech that still uses wind and toothwheels...lol.

I had the AMD FX8350 with 4of those Piledriver Clusters aka "8 Cores" (which is a lie, as is your 4 cores) and that one was clocking higher and used more power than your even weaker APU with half the cores and you know what?

I got myself the Ryzen 5 1600X when it got released in April 2017 with all the bells and whistles (new board, RAM and so on) and suddenly i had 6 real cores, 12 threads with SMT working w/o any problems and that for almost half the real powerconsumption, not to mention that every core offered atleast 50% more power and i had 6 now instead of 4.

That combinded with my old GTX 980 would wipe the floor with your rig without breaking a swaet and we talk 5years (R5) to 7years (GTX980) old tech.

Currently i run the R7 3700X and my also now 5 years old GTX1080Aorus Rev.2, with about 25% additional CPU core power compared to the R5 1600X and 2Cores and 4threads more and at average +70% GPU power compared to the 980.

That can still run the Witcher 3 modded to death at 1440p with up to 80fps on Halks (HD Reworked Project) Ultra setting.

Or Skyrim with almost 2k mods, still nearly always sticking to that 60fps mark, also on max even with some light ENB.

All with that aging tech, just to give you some perspective and to diffuse some thoughts of "you probably run Alderlake and a 3090".

So do yourself a favor and get something better and to arrive atleast in the 'industrial ages' in terms of PC Hardware.

@*username*

i get where thats coming from.

still it undermines the already very low minimum specs, which are intended to provide 1080p medium settings at playable rates, so 30fps+ to even be able to enjoy the game to some extent.

to provide ppl with specs that undercut even that 10years+ low spec, doesnt help them, it rather just discourages people from eventually upgrading even more, which in turn deprives them of the real experience that a even good 5 year old used rig can provide at 1080p or even 1440p with high/ultra settings with this 6 years old game and has them ravelling in frustration and despair, instead of getting faced with the harsh reality that they need to get rid of their stone age tech if they want to really play&enjoy moderner titles, as pocket calculators are no gaming machines.

Yes it doesnt hurt anyone, thats the only sentence that made sense.

But, there's also no need to whiteknight to the rescue and come with garbage like "elitist comments", "belittle" or the euphemistic "older specs", when we talk about 10to15years+ old cheap mid to entry lelvel hardware, which some of wasnt even meant for gaming in the first place.

And its not so, that there werent lets say 5 years or so already going prior to this current f'd up GPU market, and tbh even the new garbage AMD 6500XT is much faster and fairly cheap, than what we talk about here and a platform upgrade, if it isnt including DDR5 can be done also fairly cheap and with lots of power still beeing present.

I'm well aware of the market situation, thx.

So maybe stop tryin to find excuses on other peoples behalf, you have no right to speak for?

Yawn.

Maybe you take your own unasked Advice and grow up, Kid.

@*usernmae*:

did you just assume my privilege?

and if you talk about yourself, just say so and dont behind phrases like "not everyone" ...

"spoiled ass" - envy needs to be earned eh?

Maybe you go and check yourself and think a little further than you can spit, as if its my fault you cant afford nicer things for yourself, maybe stop smoking weed or getting wasted all day.?

Maybe ppl like me with stronger and partly already over 5 years old hardware, also need to save up to get it, to "spoil" themselfs, but manage to do so and have the discipline to wait and not touch the savings for anything else...

****

Edit:

"Bragging" - ok, your wish is my command:

"Haha, you can sit on your junk, i just got me an RTX 3080 Aorus Master 12GB LHR, see ya shrinking in the rear mirror. Damn now i need a faster CPU and faster Monitor, QHD and 165Hz is just not cutting it anymore!" - you see the difference?

So while its true, that i just got me this card, now that prices finally returned to MSRP + Custom Design Premium levels.

It still took almost 6 Years of waiting, saving and teary eyes seeing all those FPS Charts with all the 1080Ti's, 2080's and co towering above me and now we are already facing RTX4000...damn, but they will be expensive a.f. and sold out quickly, so f*ck it, no need to wait any longer.

****

So go F* off.

@*username*:

I'am pretty chill bro, there is no madness involved,

i just don t see any meaningful usefulness in this mod and see it as discouraging from upgrading and also pointed out, that the game has already quite low specs, but that people always find excuses for the continued use of severly outdated hardware a.e. 10+ years, that also partly was never meant to game with. etc pp.

but some ppl cant handle critisism and feel personally attacked when you point certain things out and suggest that they might do something about it, instead of using mods like this, further extending their misery by putting another bandaid over a festering necrotic wound.

and then they lash out, as can be seen in this thread and join in on others doing so, just to feel better and vent a little, but in the end, nothing changes, regardless of how vile this goes to be, as you can see just below your post, with all those buzzwords, assumptions and half assed attempts on insulting me, because of...."reasons".

10 August 2022, 3:27AM

.

your "argument" makes no sense whatsoever, it just shows that you have no arguments, but are just swooping in to dunk on someone who doesnt see a point in this mod, adding yourself to the legion of the nasties in this thread, while thinking that you're a better person by doing so.

Spoiler: you're not.

15 August 2022, 12:05AM

and you're a dick for still not getting the point and message, nor that i'm also not filthy rich and still manage to upgrade at some point.
