kvabbe
I removed this one cause it was a spoiler... Didn't notice the "rules" when I posted it... soz
KillDrone
This needs to be in the spoiler section, also there is a very popular mod that extends the game past the main quest so you can continue playing your character. Check in the Top 50 mods, it should be in the top 10. Also, there is another ending.... but I'm not a spoiler.

M_C
Is there another mod that did the same thing? I know I installed one so I could continue after the main quest a few months ago but now I can't find it to remove it. I don't see FPaMQ in FOMM or in my data folder but when I activate the purifier I don't die, I just continue. *shrug*
Mr MMMM
^ it could possibly be because the mod changed some of the coding in the game and while you removed the mod you didn't completely follow the uninstall instructions.
M_C
I had to go back to level 20 before I finished the main quest but I found a solution that worked for me. CREBSOR:http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=6240
