colourwheel
I basically taking break from modding my game and been enjoying playing Oblivion for once. I had just finished the Mages guild questline and Honestly was very disappointed. It seems more of an epic quest to just join the university than actually to complete the last stage in the the quest line. In the end, sure you get to be archmage and have your own personal Mage NPC follow you around if you want, but does anyone else feel like it was a disappointment after completing this questline? it just seems to me like the last stage should have been a bit more epic than just needing to dungeon craw in a borring dungeon to reach a the battle to defeat the king of worms. LoginToDownload
If you think the Mages Guild is bad, you should try the Fighters Guild. I will agree that the quest was a lot like most of Oblivion's other quests, and that ending the Mages Guild plot on a straight-up dungeon crawl is pretty ironic, but I still enjoyed the quest well enough. Undead and NPCs are my favorite enemies, and it was built up enough.
madman132
At least you'll get a nice Set of Armor in the Fighters Guild Questline, which is actually usable if you stay low level. Otherwise, the Fightersguild questline is boring. You get to meet some quirky Characters but other then that its boring and story wise badly written. With the Mages Guild Questline you get access to the enchanting Stuff. Which is nice, but the whole Arcane University looks like it hasn't been finished. This is supposed to be the Mages Council Chamber? Oh come on! Story wise its not as bad as the fighters Guild, but definitely sub par. Thieves Guild is better and the Dark Brotherhood has some actual Twists. However, the reward for the Thieves Guild isn't worth any effort. The Reward of the Dark Brotherhood consists of some Bonuses during some of the Quests. After that, you can get 200 Gold every Week. Wonderful  There are Mods to fix some of the Mess Hannibal Traven has created. =)

Argomirr
Yeah, the Fighters Guild quests aren't that bad. They're mercenaries, not mages or assassins. That's a big difference. So stop complaining about it! ;D [EDIT] Yay, 100th post!
LoginToDownload
I enjoyed the Fighters Guild; it's just that the final quest was incredibly anticlimactic. Your cover being blown for no reason, a bunch of one-on-one/two duels with uninteresting opponents (At least, no more than one or two ever attacked me at once), a tube in the works, and an annoying Bosmer that thinks having a family is a valid justification for screwing everyone else over. Crimsanity
I found both questlines annoying, so after finishing them, I made a new save, then went on a killing spree, murdering every guild member in every town. Decapitating them, impaling them, shooting them full of arrows, shattering their frozen bodies... Each death was rather unique and way more satisfying than their quest rewards ever were. Of course, I had to reload afterward, due to a bounty I could never pay off without console and loads of infamy I didn't really want. Deadly Reflex ftw, allows me to take revenge to a whole new level.
