Thandal
For anyone who has the EA/Origin install of DA:O, you may have discovered that the "Launcher" no longer works. After a lot of looking under the covers by several different players, (and at least a couple of EA Customer Support staffers) over the course the past two-and-a-half months, here's what I've pieced together: The decision to remove the DA "Launcher" (and ones from DA2 and the ME-series) was deliberate. (Why there was no notice to players, I can't say.) I *think* they removed the launcher because EA had changed the back-end operation and/or location of most of the options the Launcher provided. Things like "Support", "Documentation", and "Website" would no longer do what they were supposed to. If you used to use a desktop shortcut to start the game through the Launcher's splash screen, it no longer works. You have to start the game through the EA/Origin client, or by using a shortcut pointed directly to "DAOrigins.exe". But we can still get to the Config menu:"\Origin Games\Dragon Age\bin_ship\DAOriginsConfig.exe" can be started directly.(Which is exactly what choosing "Configure" from the Launcher splash screen did anyway...) About the only thing in the Config utility that doesn't work the way it used to is that the "Game" panel no longer displays your Product Code (the field is blank.) So, while I'm not happy about the manner in which they did this, at least I have a way to easily switch between languages again!
