Wierd voice bug

I've just reinstalled Oblivion on a new computer, and applied my mods. When I play it, at times, especially during conversations, the NPC's voice starts to echo, like in a cave or something. It sometimes happens with things like battle grunts too, but not as often. Can anyone tell me how to fix this problem?

This is likely to be a function of an onboard audio sollution.

For starters, look for updates to the audio drivers.

my audio devices are already updated to the latest drivers. i think it has to do with the software as well, but i have no clue how to fix it.

Oblivion tends to have issues with onboard audio chipsets, especially Realtek.

In the oblivion.ini file located in the ...\Documents\mygames\oblivion\Oblivion.ini file locate:

the line "iMaxImpactSoundCount=32", and try changing the 32 to 16

Another tweak that might help is changing the line (in the oblivion.ini) bDSoundHWAcceleration=1 to 0

You may also be experiencing a codec issue
