I havnt played oblivion in about 2years. Just looking for some recommended mods. Kind of mods Im looking for are just mods that make what the game already has look better. Last time I play I pretty much use better / heads / bodys / lambs / books and thing like that and a pretty cool texture mod that made the game look even more real.

Iam not looking for anything really crazy just mods that make the skins more updated and textures of the game. Maybe some spell effect updates or something.

If theis arleady been ask before will someone toss me that would be great. If not just toss me a few mods that may seem like what Im looking for. There so many now compare to the last time I played Im kinda lost.

Also sorry if this was the worng place to post this.

First off, Oblivion Mod Manager (OBMM) is a must. I'd recommend Better Cities to make all the towns really come to life. Real Lights for improved lighting effects. Beaming Sunglare to make your sun really shine. Body mods are plentiful, I'm sure you can find one that suits your tastes. I prefer the TFF Fantasy Figures body mod, but HGEC looks to be the most popular right now. Streamline is a great mod for smoothing out your frame rate if the game taxes your PC by purging your memory of saved cells periodically and it is completely adjustable. Deadly Reflex is awesome for enhancing your gameplay.

There are hundreds of great mods around here. As stated above, check the Top 100 list of files, all the best are there. Apart from that, all I can say is jump in the file sharing section and look around. The search feature is comprehensive and works exceptionally well. You'll have your game just the way you want it in no time.

I have a coded list just sitting around for posts like these:

Fixes/Must Haves

Oblivion Mod Manager: Absolute Must-Have for anyone using mods.

Low-Poly Grass: If you have grass turned on, save some FPS and use this.

Natural Environments: Dynamic weather change + other features.

No Glow fix: No more technicolour outlines for you!

Unofficial Oblivion Patch: If this is not installed, you're doin' it wrong.

Oblivion Profile Manager (I use 1.3): More than one character? Having trouble finding savegames? This is your solution!

Slof’s Robe Trader: Spices up otherwise bland Robes. (Possible "Mature" warning)

Xero’s Fame Indicator: Tells you when you've done good and bad.

ArchMage’s Items: Adds two items that you have to give up to advance in the Mages Guild quests.

Light Spell Recolor: Sickly Green lighting not doing it for you? Change it!

(OMod version): Light Spell Recolor mod, for use with Oblivion Mod Manager

Weapons/Armour

Apophis: Armoury of the Silver Dragon: Awesome Weapons and Armour for high level characters.

Bob’s Armory: Adds a TON of new weapons and armour to the levelled lists.

Defensive Staves: Adds Staffs as Shield items ingame. Also servers as a Staff replacer to bring some variety to your fire-shooting sticks.

+ Patch: Defensive Staves patch.

Akaviri Imports: Every stock weapon now has an alternate Akaviri version for sale.

+ Patch: Akaviri Imports patch.

RealSwords: Go to TES Nexus and do a search for RealSwords. Many mods will come up, and they are all RealSword mods. Pick and choose the ones you want.

House Mods

House Map Markers: Adds Fast-Travel markers to your homes.

All In One Basement: Adds a universal Basement to every stock House in Oblivion.

Bravil Sea Domes: Nice little mod for undersea lovers.

Arboretum Bathhouse: Swaps the generic tower in the Arboretum for a Bathhouse.

Misc

Seductive Idles: NPCs do things while standing still.

Nighteye Shader Replacement: No more seeing Blue!

Amazing Jump: Makes jumping more fun. Try jumping backwards for a "WTF o_0" moment.

3rd Person/1st Person Animation swapper: Changes the camera around a bit and shows 'true' animations.

Summon Daedra Effect: Makes ripping Daedra from their realm much more interesting to look at.

Dwemer Spectacles: Is you character hard of seeing? Get some glasses!

Beautiful People: Adds a bunch of new Races, hairs and eyes to choose from when making characters.

Update My Statue: Not quite the heroic armour you wanted to be seen in? Swap it out!

Bag of Holding: No more days wasted carting loot to and from caves.

MajorJim’s UI: De-console-ifies the GUI, making doing stuff easier.

(OMod version): MajorJim's Ui, for use with Oblivion Mod Manager

Landmarks: Find a Doomstone but couldn't get the Power from it? Come back later and get it with this mod!

CM Partners: Getting lonely? Find a friend or two and go raid a cave!

Druid Mod: Nature calling? Go and answer!
