Spivey
Ok so I cut out and set up a pair of spurs and was wondering if it is possable to add audio to them when I walk or run. I have it working well enough via a script, but was wondering if there is a better way. How exactly is it the game plays the normal armor sounds when running or walking? And would it work with my spurs giving me both the ring of them and the thud of my boots?
pkleiss
Unless someone else corrects me, I believe that the footfall sounds you hear in the game are dictated by the object's NIF. Specifically, the type of collision object used within the armor NIF. Since your spurs are an armor add-on, I don't think it's possible to have the game automatically make the ring sound along with the the thud of the boot. Spivey
Damn kinda figured it was something like that... Oh well the scripted version my friend helped me put together works nice enough I suppose. Would have been nice to have them time perfect, but its only off by a fraction of a second, and only while running.. Now I guess I just need to repeat the process for NV where spurs fit a little more heh.
pkleiss
If it's only off by a fraction of a second and only while running, why not a a fraction of a second delay before playing the sound while running?
Spivey
I'll just be happy that after revisiting my average work, my friend was able to make a much more effective version of my script. It now near flawlessly adjusts sound speeds for running, walking, and sneaking....he really is much better at this s#*! than me. I just wanted to make sure before marking this one as done that there wasnt a better way to attach the sound fx to the item. To tell the truth my main goal now will be to decide what if any stats to put on them, needs something to offset the sneak loss that occurs while moving. Lol though I am just enjoying the look and sound at this point.
