theycallmebob Posted November 10, 2013 Posted November 10, 2013 So I downloaded a large number of mods (30 or so) using the NMM. I followed the steps described and used the manager to install the mods and apply them. When I started up Skyrim, none of the mods seemed to be working. I looked at the data files folder on the startup menu for the game and nothing was there. From there I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, same thing. I looked up the problem online and tried all of the steps there, but nothing worked. After that, I decided to just download the files into the data folder manually. I spent hours copying and pasting and unzipping files only to find that, while I could see the mods on the data files, the game immediately crashed upon startup. I deselected all of the mods on the data files, and the game still crashes. I ran tes5edit and it did not register any errors. BOSS gives me absolutely nothing of value. I've spent hours on trying to mod this game and am about to give up hope. If help could be given, I would be extremely grateful.
Jodi79 Posted November 10, 2013 Posted November 10, 2013 (edited) Use Tes Mod Manager instead: all other managers are pretty, handy... and if you look in variuos thread could cause bugs (but someone could say i'm wrong.. i don't think so ^^) said so: are you sure your mods are checked? besides a manager and BOSS, you'll need TesEdit (to clean mods if needed, and when you'll have a lil more experience, to merge esp) and Wrye Bash, to build the bashed Patch(for mods affecting levelled list) Edited November 10, 2013 by Jodi79

They all appeared, I checked all of them, there were no errors, nothing like that. I watched the video on how to use it and nothing came up.
