Best looking ENB that is actually playable?

Hello everyone, I am not sure if this is the correct place to ask this, but:

I recently tried out K Enb and the Sharpshooter V5 ENB, but they both dropped my FPS down to like 20. Whether I enabled SLI or not didn't seem to matter, and they did not even max out my cards (but sapped my performance nonetheless). Then I tried out Sharpshooter V5 performance, and it was 30-47 fps, with my Graphics cards not even hitting 60%. My CPU was at about 10% usage on all cores.

Is there something that actually looks good without just killing (forget killing, more like massacring) FPS?

Important specs:

780 GTX (EVGA SC ATX) x2

i7 4770k @ 4.5Ghz

Qnix 1440p 27 inch monitor (no overclock, 60Hz)

When I put this rig together I assumed it would run everything fine for at least a year or two at 1440p, but apparently I was very.... very wrong.

Thanks

Somethings odd indeed, I have a less powerful rig myself (GTX6 series, slightly slower cpu...), and yet I had better FPS when I tried these same ENBs.

I'd suggest saving your skyrim. ini and 'pref.ini, recreating the game default ones (adding the required lines for ENBs of course), and perhaps checking your video card drivers.

For what it's worth, I'm currently using Opethfeldt ENB and I've very decent fps with it (~43 FPS on average)

Im using Seasons Of Skyrim Full Graphics Mode with ENBoost tweaks and my average fps is about 55. Thats on a single 580 GTX, on stock values(no OC).Have you tried using texture optimizer? It can drastically reduce the size of your textures without any noticeable changes to graphics. I used to get crazy stuttering due to only having 1 gig Vram but after using it i have none.

Do you have the latest drivers etc.?

Also with the latest versions of ENB comes and in game editor so you can better tailor the settings to your liking. Try enabling and disabling some features to see if there is any change in performance, if not it might not be a hardware problem. Also might want to try another game with high end graphics to see if the issues is related to Skyrim.

Also theres a feature in ENB where you can set a desired FPS and the default value is 20 for some reason..

Again try to see with the in game editor if any of these changes have any.

Resetting your ini settings is a good idea there are some changes there that can make even the more beastier specs sweat(like ugridstoload).

Thats all that came to mind for now.

PS.: I doubt its the ENB that makes your FPS drop so much, most likely some bad settings, and makes ure you only run 1 version of the ENB (recommended the wrapper ver.)

Did you set the VRAM number correctly in the inis?

1440p is a much higher resolution. It is more taxing on VRAM. SLI does not double your memory. This could be it, but I think you should be able to run those ENBs no problem. I cannot recommend RealVision performance enough, even though I chose a different ENB to use myself. That thing had a stable 30-40FPS On a modest 1GB GTX 570 and scaled very well to a 4GB card. My significant other uses the full version and even though I love my ENB the quality of it always catches me off guard.

I play in 16:10, 1920x1200 resolution. I have one GTX 780. I smoothly run 4k textures and Seasons of Skyrim ENB (my favorite!) at 60fps. I made absolutely sure to do all the tweaks (listing memory) to the INIs in the instructions and it runs great.

I don't have GTX 7 series (yet) although we have the same processor (albeit clocked at different speed). Using 1920x1080 I can get around 30-50 fps with my favorite ENBs:

- Unreal Cinema

http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/37202/

- Somber or Somber Lut Sepia (both made by Tansarville if I'm not mistaken)

http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/37716/

http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/41465/

- Ruvaak Dahmaan (great cinematic feeling, I use it very often)

http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/40088/

- Saraan Suum

http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/43765/

- Opethfeld (for natural looking Skyrim)

http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/18941/

Also you might wanna try these first:

Stakado Cinemascope

http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/15425/

Stakado Realistic and Cinematic

http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/12180/

Probably not the best but you can test them to see if you can get decent FPS using those presets. By the way I'm using 660 Ti with 331.65, default settings except for power (max performance instead of adaptive). Good luck.
