Mods still there after reinstall

Hello everybody!

I have a weird problem with my Oblivion. I ran into some UI problems and I tried changing it on my own, big mistake. I could not access anything but my questlog and my UI was all over the screen.

I decided to back up all my non-UI mods and then delete anything downloaded that was related to Oblivion and then reinstall. I uninstalled, removed my Oblivion folder and anything related to it and then installed it again.

Everything worked fine until I actually were in the game. Every mod I removed was gone except my custom UI. I cannot remember which UI it was but I do recall it was namned something like "DarkUI" or similar. I really don't see how this actually still was there even after deleting my Oblivion folder AND uninstalling the game.

The only reason I could think of was my saved games. I have characters raging from level 5-20 and I really did not want to loose then so I backed them up, could that be the problem? Does your UI & Mods get saved by saved games?

Please help!

When you uninstall Oblivion it doesn't really uninstall everything. Then when you start adding mods before you have started the game, some things may not get initialized properly.

DO NOT delete the Oblivion.exe or the Oblivion folder as that will cause problems when you try to uninstall or reinstall - allow the game uninstaller to take care of it.

The game uninstaller does not remove your mods, save games or Oblivion.ini or the entries that the original installation of Oblivion placed in your Windows registry. It also does not remove helper programs such as OBSE, OBMM, Wrye Bash, The construction set or any other programs you have installed in the \Oblivion folder or the save game folder.

Here is my recommended procedure for uninstalling and reinstalling.
