Yes i do, i cnat stree enough how annoying it is. the yanks, when i went to america, kept on asking about my accent. i told them it was scottish (glaswegian), and they asked me if scotland was in england, the northen state to boot. he knew what iron bru was though, so i forgave him for that. but seriously, very few foreigners know scotland is a country, they just think its part of england.

was in malaga at the summer, had to keep saying scotland in spanish to stop the natives harrasing me. i dont think they like the english.

i was a bit young to remember much about portugal. i enjoyed it a lot though, i remember that. countries beaten about by their bigger neighbours tend to be more optimistic and open. dont know why. im actually going to portugal with my dad on a golfing trip thingy this winter, cos we normally go to spain. but its boring now and are trying portugal this time cos we were told portugese golf is getting really BIG these days.

i too am patriotic to my country, it almost borders on the obscene.

A lot of americans think that the United Kingdom is something somewhere in the middle east

Someone should teach those dudes something of the REAL world...

The name of the language someone was looking for is Gaelic IIRC.

Anyway, I've been to Scotland myself (Portugal as well ;) ). I have seen some of the Highland games, and they really have unique things, like log-throwing. Basically their arms down and balanced a log on it upwards, then ran and try to throw the thing as far as possible, and it had to land on the side that was up first, and then has to flip over instead of falling back heh heh heh...

Most of them are still proud of whatever clan their family belongs to, and each clan has a tartan, the pattern they wear on their kilts and sashes. The most famous tartan is Royal Stuart, it's red with black, and a yellow line through the center. Guards usually wear this tartan. There are also other variants of this tartan, Stuart Hunting is the same but then in green, and Stuart Dress is the same in white. Also a famous tartan is the McLeod tartan, it's various shades of green with yellow and red lines. These two are used a lot as print for clothing.

The capital of Edinburgh is built on hills, and a huge castle is built on one of them, which you can see from practically everywhere in the city. It has the crown jewels on display and has guards wearing kilts.

Glasgow is also an important city, and is more of an university city and has a couple of famous musea and art galleries.

There are also a set of islands northwest of Scotland called the Hebreans or something (dunno what you call it), and the most famous one is the Isle of Skye. I believe the McLeod clan ruled it, anyway, there is a castle on it called Dunvegan. Also it has a large mountain on it and rockformations. There are also multiple breweries and the liquor Drambuie was first brewed here, but right now it's produced in Edinburgh.

OK that's enough for now.
