I know that there's a stable mod that lets you place a horsie home marker with a spell, but it requires immersive horses and isn't quite what I'm looking for. There are also the "teleport to magic lands" mods, but that's not very immersive. I think it would be cool if the various inns/taverns in Skyrim had a gated stable out back (maybe more like a pen, for simplicity's sake) that you could ride your horse into, dismount, and then shut the gate on. Or maybe something like a mini-barn but in the world space, so that you can walk in and shut the door. I'm not sure how stubborn the script is that tells your horse to return to its home stable, though, so I don't know for sure that this would actually work. But it seems like a more immersive solution to the horse home problem, and potentially simpler if it avoids having to deal with scripts.
