sp86
You know, if you approach it more like a tactical strategy game instead of going in expecting an RPG, its a great game with a good story. If you do get it, make sure you save every single EMP Shotgun round you get and buy every single one available. Anyways, if you do want it: http://www.gogamer.com/Fallout-Collection-...0VVviewprod.htm All three original fallout games for 15 bucks, can't go wrong huh? I bought that, totally worth the money. Anyways, you should definetly try Tactics, its a fun game (that I could never beat).
sp86
What'd you have problems with? (I got all four major endings)
Riddleofsteel
I love this game, still a great engine in my opinion. Nothing else compares to isometric. I have technical issues in Vista 64 however. Also, I can't decide on re-playing it with turn based combat or real time.
Schatten82
Tested Fallout Tactics once when it came out and was very disappointed. It neither felt very "falloutish" nor had the feeling of a Jagged Alliance. Would not even play it if it was for free.
Schreiter
It's like playing Fallout, except rather than being free, you play a character who's pledged to the BoS and do nothing but missions they give to you. So plot-wise, it's nothing like the previous Fallouts. In most ways, it's nothing like the previous Fallouts. I'm a big gun-geek, so i loved how the game had real-life guns and their respective ammunition. I also liked the mode where you got more experience, but could only save between missions; it makes you take the game more seriously and gives you incentive to accept your losses. Also, you get direct control of your party members. On the down side, there's no conversations. I remember there being some awkward work-around in a mod where you had a choice in dialogue. The real-time combat makes your team a little sloppy and they'll shoot any teammate between them and their mark. I would only use it in normal mode where you can save at any time, or for small threats. It's not retro-futuristic, but i didn't notice and don't care. Charisma is only useful for perks (leader, asf) and barter, i think. There are no places like Megatown or Shady Sands or any place of frith other than BoS bases. For all it's ups and downs, i think i'll play this game next time i need a break from Fallout 3.
