MarcusCardiff
I posted a thread on gamespot mentioning a new search technology called Wolfram Alpha, I started this thread to talk about the technology and the ideas behind it,I also included a couple of links to more information. This post was deleted immediately...... I then complained about the deletion of my thread with no mention too anything i put in the original thread, this was also deleted immediately. If I was offencive then I could understand, but posting some new technology then asking why a thread has been deleted doesnt deserve this. I know the rules here and abide to them, i also know that gamespot allow flaming and antisocial behaviour and even though I wouldnt behave like that I have had these legitimate threads blocked, this is nothing more than blatant censorship and content manipulation of the worst kind, All I can think is that gamespot has some sort of a deal with google or another competitor in searching. I dont think I will ever go back.
Thor.
I don't like Gamespot either, the fact they are so biased bothered me in so many ways, and this well another reason why i don't like gamespot. i signed up awhile ago and stopped the same day i registered, thats why i use IGN or gamespy for reviews now. Its almost like they had a deal with microsoft or something.
TheTerminator2004
Posting a thread questioning a moderator never goes down well in any forum, so its no wonder that one was locked. You should try PMing a moderator, asking politely if they could tell you the reason for the original thread being locked. You never know, there could have been a very legitimate reason. Thor.
I have to agree on that, if you don't like the way the forum is run keep it quiet and change forums. or ask why you have been blacked or sensored, or in this case reported.
MarcusCardiff
Just my opinion but it seems quite blatant to me.A thread being deleted without bothering to PM me with a reason seems arrogant and rude. I don't like Gamespot either, the fact they are so biased bothered me in so many ways, and this well another reason why i don't like gamespot. i signed up awhile ago and stopped the same day i registered, thats why i use IGN or gamespy for reviews now. Its almost like they had a deal with microsoft or something.I've been there on and off for some years and seen first hand how things have been corrupted by what appears to be kickbacks, their rating system is always being questioned and they reply with censorship, so nothing new with me. I guess I only visited out of habit but like you I always looked at other viewpoints. Posting a thread questioning a moderator never goes down well in any forum, so its no wonder that one was locked. You should try PMing a moderator, asking politely if they could tell you the reason for the original thread being locked. You never know, there could have been a very legitimate reason. I have to agree on that, if you don't like the way the forum is run keep it quit and change forums. or ask why you have been blacked or sensored, or in this case reported. I know that and I would have if they had shown the slightest attempt at being reasonable in the first place, This isn't the first time I have been sanctioned for nothiong more than expressing an opinion that flies in the face of some corporate agenda. To add insult to it they even lied about why I was sanctioned, they said I had replied to an "old" thread, which I didn't do.If old threads can't be accessed then they should be closed by the admin. I should have left then I guess.I think my open complaint was a parting gift to their general lack of common sense. Looks like the people it was aimed at heard me. jaosals42
Just stay away from there now on. Sometimes you just have to let things go and forget about it. This is one of those instances.
buddah
Now you understand the site's policy of transparency (as much as possible), fewer misunderstandings. Do we make mistakes, sure they are for all to see. We do however correct them in the same manner. Buddah

This is one of those instances.Exactly, I was annoyed last night but like most things it soon fades into insignificance. Now you understand the site's policy of transparency (as much as possible), fewer misunderstandings. Do we make mistakes, sure they are for all to see. We do however correct them in the same manner. BuddahI do uderstannd and think it's a good policy. If i mess up I'd like to know why. I'd far rather it be out in the open if for nothing more than clarity.
