Cyvanhoe
I just went through the third DLC, Broken Steel. Here's my opinion on it, feel free to express yours too. All in all, I was a bit disappointed about Broken Steel. Having 10 extra levels is nice but the enemies do bolster up too up to Level 30. This makes them rather hard to kill, rendering any normal weapons almost useless. Plasma weapons, Power Armor and truckloads of Stimpaks are the way to go. At one time an enclave soldier took two full magazines from the chinese assault rifle before he went down. Deathclaws and the new ghouls tend to be extra deadly now, even on Easy difficulty. Thing is, what disappointed me the most was the fact that Broken Steel yet again is all about combat. I might have missed out on some possibilities but I am rather sure you cannot complete this DLC without killing anyone. Sneaky characters might be an option but they will have it even harder than the combattant ones due to the insane amount of enemies later on. Let's look at the atmosphere now... does Broken Steel still 'feel' like Fallout ? Yes, it does. Actually I think it's much closer to Fallout 1+2 than the original game was when it comes to atmosphere. Invading an old Powerwork Station infested with Deathclaws to acquire a Tesla Coil. Chatting with an artificial intelligence in the Presidential Subway. And during the last mission, where you have to infiltrate and blow up the Enclave Air Force Base, I was really feeling like I would be playing the 3D version of when you infiltrate the Enclave Oil Rig in Fallout 2. It was really refreshing, the original game should have had more stuff like that. So, we got a negative and we got a positive. Sadly, I have to end with a negative. There's no new end movie. That's right. After you've rescued the day yet again and received your occasional handshake you're left to go your ways again. I really would have liked to get a few epilogues about the choices one has made in the game, like in the previous Fallout games. Oh well, at least I am free to roam the wastes again, in search for new adventures.
bebbe777
And you get to see the inside of a Vertibird :D. Things that we hopefully will see in the future. A resurrected Liberty Prime and the Commonwealth (why else would they send Li up there)
nazguljcg
I give broken steel a 9.9/10. The story was immersive and the dungeons were long. I found the battles to be very challenging which was a change since the beginning of the game. Died on multiple occasions making me nave to rethink strategies against more challenging opponents. So far i have palyed it through with a big guns character and an energy weapons character. After the previous comment I am looking forward to trying a small guns character. My only disappointment was the tesla cannon which i felt did not live up to the hype, but a neat weapon nonetheless.
MisterCrowley
I thought it was good, up until the point I realized it was over so soon. Completed all the side quests as well. I was a bit...sad that no one really appreciates your 'efforts'. Basically your thanked and waved out of there. I want to be worshiped, dangit!:)
lilgamefreek
I preferred it much more for the little things than the big ones. The "new" wasteland, weapons, charcters, etc. are all really great. The main complaint is the ending is SOOO anticlimactic. I know Dr. Li was sent to the Commonwealth because they couldn't get her voice acting into the mod, but I still hope this forces them to create a commonwealth expansion. bebbe777
No, it wasnt. The best DLC so far. It ended the Vault dwellers quest (for now) and it made you have reunion with all important characthers. Nice to see a real ending. But it was abit anticlimatic in the end but Oblivion had it aswell.

Akadai
Just finished Broken Steel, so now I can read all these spoiler threads without worry  I will agree that it is the best out of the 3. I was alot more happy with the way it ended than the original FO3 ending atleast. I'm glad they threw that many enemies at me. With the original, Prime did all the work, and then it was over. I felt completely jipped. I was like "wtf, I didn't even do anything but activate a stupid machine and die" Broken Steel does remind me alot about FO2's ending now that it's been mentioned. I was pleasantly surprised how challenging it was. Those new ghouls were alot more evil than I thought they would be too. And that new flamer gun was really getting annoying My biggest disappointment would have to be the same as some others. The Tesla Cannon. What the hell was the deal with that piece of crap? It didn't seem to do squat against them virtibirds(sp?). After a few failed attempts of tryng blow some up, I decided to say screw it and keep with my normal weapons As for the "thank you" at the end, it's better than "Oh, we're kicking you out of Vault 13 now, but thanks for saving the day". (Granted you did already get kicked out of vault 101) And I don't remember too much of a "thank you" from anyone at the end of FO2. So I feel Broken Steel's ending is just fine for me
SilusCrow
My only two major beefs were the following: 1. How tough the new enemies are. It's not really a problem to be honest, it's just annoying when you don't know HOW tough they really are until you face off against them for the first time. I mean seriously. Sneak Victory Rifle shot with Max Small Guns skill and it STILL takes three shots to drop one of those Enclave guys. Lucky I got a satchel of Plasma Grenades and a Stealth Suit =D 2. The Tesla Cannon. This thing pissed me off. I ended up firing up the GECK and making a new one with as much firepower as a Fat Man. Problem was that I forgot to up the Durability, so two shots and I had to fire up the Self Repair Menu (player.srm) and fix it. Dropped the birds like crazy though. All in all though, I liked it. The new armor is great, the new Flamer is definatly interesting, and I'm just waiting for some people to tinker with the content.
