Starting Broken Steel after finished MQ...

I'm at level 43 and I used one of the mods that allows you to continue after the main quest long ago. This didn't matter with OA or The Pitt but since I already finished the main quest I can't get Elder Lyons to start a new quest for Broken Steel. Three Dog does talk about the clean water now but that's it.

 

I tried resetting the Take it Back quest but that quest doesn't restart now either. I'd hate to start over since I'm level 43 but I'm running out of options.

 

Any ideas?

I still haven't found a way to reset the main quest, without going back 23+ levels to older saves, so I can get the BS quests. I know it's working due to Three Dog's dialog and the appearance of Albino Radscorpions but I need to start the purifier (again) to get the BS quests...

I had to go back to level 20, before I finished the main quest, but I found a solution that worked for me. Evidently I had a mod that changed/added races (or the one that allowed the game to continue after the MQ) so even though I started the purifier, it still would only continue rather than activating BS.

The script includes all the lines of the original endingbinksscript so it will work with Vanilla races too. However, when you need this to get BS started while running vanilla race, it is 99.99% that one of your mod inadvertantly included Fallout3.esm version of the script, and overrode the changes made in Brokensteel.esm. It is best to use FO3edit and find where the conflict lies so you can go bug the mod maker about it, instead of relying on override to hide the problem.
