How to Make Followers

Okay, so I hope I'm posting this in the right forum, if not I apologize. Anyway, to cut to the chase, I'm wondering how to followers. What steps do I need to take to do? I'm not very familiar with how to make my own dialoge either =/. The reason I'm asking is I've made an overhaul for Fallout3 to the point where it's nearly a Total Conversion, but I'd like to add hirable mercenaries to the wasteland. Problem being- I don't know how to make the hirable. If anybody could give me a clue I'd greatly appreciate it.

The best way to make them a follower is to copy some of the other followers. Look at everything they are used in. Mainly you will have to open up the followers quest (if you still have it in this TC) and then add lines for everything for your character. You will need to make sure all the conditions are the same as another follower to ensure that everything works. Dialogue is a tough thing at first but looking through for a while you will slowly get the hang of it.

Would it be possible to script/arm a follower to just run around healing all the members of your party. I'm having a visionary moment of an epic battle, with all hands taking heavy damage whilst doc scurry's around in his medical power armour delivering that vital boost at just the last second.
