Function123
So, I've read as many tutorials as I could find, I can make basic topics with quests and do all that jazz, yet I'm still baffled by one thing: How do I actually add speech? Say I want an NPC to say 'Whatever.' in response to a new dialogue option as part of a quest, instead of just subtitling it I actually want to use the 'Whatever' voice file. But I can't work out how to add specific voice files to conversation or topics, there's the box filled with the voice files used, but I can't work out how to interact with the box, left or right clicking does nothing. Am I missing something blindingly obvious?
BadPenney
There might be a better way to do it, but I use Fallout Mod Manager's BSA Unpacker to get the voice sound file that I want the npc to say and then save it and its lip file in a voice folder under my .esp's directory. Then rename the file whatever the GECK tells me to name it when I create the new dialogue. I can't seem to create new audible dialogue by referring to dialogue choices in the the FO3 BSA. If you are voicing a new Unique NPC that you have created, then you may need to create a unique voice set for him, and put his voice files in a folder named exactly the same as his voice set. Function123
It seems ridiculously complex. Are additonal voices included in a packaged .esp?
