merca9996
Hello, I was wondering if it is possible to use the same download of a mod for both SSE and VR versions of Skyrim, and just activate/deactivate the mods i use for each version when changin game profile on Vortex.I tried to set the same download folder for both games, but whenever i switch one to the other in vortex, a warning appears telling my that mods have been changed in disk and i may lose all meta information irreversebly... How should i set both games to properly see the same downloads. but different deploys, without breaking?
rmm200
On one of the profiles, SSE say, click the Downloads tab.At the very bottom of that window, click View all downloads. Now scroll down to a mod you want for SSE and VR. Double-click it.Click the highlighted Add button.Click on Skyrim VR. Now it will show up in both. Shees - don't they teach you guys anything in school these days??Just kidding. I only recently leaned this. Vortex is full of surprises. Note: Skyrim VR is the same 32 bit engine as Skyrim LE. It was released way before Skyrim SE. You might have better luck with LE mods. Thanks! I dindt know about that. However i suppose i will have to manually add all the mods i downloade in my life, one by one (over 200). What i noticed is, after i linked both Skyrim VR and SSE to the same download folder, whenver i download a mod now, and i check the Add button you mentioned, now it appears for both games. Only the old downloads appear without the VR option. And are you sure about Skyrim VR being 32 bit? As far as i know is 64 bit, and it was released after Skyrim SE, not before. Skryim SE was released on 2016 and VR was in 2017. Regards and thanks for your help!
rmm200
Well shoot. I have always believed the Skyrim VR executable was based on the 32 bit engine - but now I can't find anything to back that up.So let me just retract my statement about compatibility. Sorry about that...
merca9996
Im confused with something.... the download folder should be the same for both skryim VR and SE, but the Mods folder should be different for each one right? Because i put the same folder for both games and i think i screwed up

Because i put the same folder for both games and i think i screwed up The mod staging folder folder has to be on the same drive as the game, and unique to that game.So both Skyrim SE and Skyrim VR should have their own unique mod staging folder. Downloads folder can be anywhere, and is shared - sort of. Skyrim SE will have a subdirectory, and Skyrim VR will also have a subdirectory. Skyrim VR can draw from either - if you set the flags right.Disclaimer: This is my understanding; as always, subject to correction.

I thought i could have the same mod folder for both and the disable/enable the mods in either game.
rmm200
The primary requirement is that the mod staging folder be on the same drive as the game.If you have both Skyrim SE and Skyrim VR on the same drive can mods share the same mod staging folder? That question is above my pay grade, and may require a response from Tannin.I don't see any obvious reason that it would not work, but I always opt for simplicity.
