Turning off Gene-mod armors

There have been a couple of discussions about this in other threads, and I've posted some info (and was hoping that someone would pick it up and make the mod so I could keep playing ...).

 

BUT -- enough people have been asking for this that I finally broke down and worked up the hex changes.

 

This requires only a single hex change to XGBattleDesc.MapSoldierToPawn:

Obviously this only works for Enemy Within :smile:

 

Hopefully someone will put this together into a more easily installable modlet now that the hex replacement is done.

 

This does still leave gene-mod soldiers looking slightly different than their un-enhanced compatriots: it does not change the set of armor kits available. Gene-mod soldiers still have access to their usual array of armor kits that replace the regular armor kits.

 

Changes to armor kit possibilities are made by editing the DefaultContent.ini files, as mentioned here : http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/1210765-enemy-within-discovery-thread/page-14&do=findComment&comment=10142176

Well, the linked mod made use of XComContent.ini so it is different solution. Though it has nice name - Revenge of the Sleeves.

 

I like no-sleeves Rambos so far. More than Power Rangers or Robocops hehe
