How to change race type in Fallout 3 GECK?

Hey guys!

I just need some help here.

How would I change a character in Fallout 3 (ie. Paladdin Cross) and change her preset to a younger appearance to something like Fantasia.

Or how would I change Sydney's face to match that of a raider, or anything else, without messing up the script.

is there a way to do so?

Find Paladin Cross in the Object Window of the GECK under NPC/AfricanAmericanOld and edit her (Interesting that all black people are American in FO3 unlike the other races). On the first tab of her NPC window labeled Traits you can see her race [ AfricanAmericanOld ] select it and change it to just AfricanAmerican. There is an age slider under the Face tab ( you have to scroll over to see it. You can change her complexion and hair length and color there too. You can also reset her face to default there.

You can copy any NPCs face and complexion with the Face Advanced tab. If you want to copy Fantasia then open her NPC window also. Go to Face Advanced. You will see a list of facial characteristics and just underneath them are two buttons labeled COPY and PASTE. Press the COPY button on Fantasia's window and then the PASTE button on Paladin Cross's window. Now she will look like Fantasia with a buzz cut. You can change her hair style in the Head Parts tab, if you want.

If you want a character to look dirty like a raider just change them to a raider race. It doesn't mess up the script if you only alter their appearance.

If you change the sex of a unique character then you might disable their audible voice though. They are sex specific often times. So if you change an NPC and you can't hear them anymore you should check to see if they have a specific unique voiceset.
