piccol0
Hey, I have ported a custom bullpup model (from fpsbanana) over but would like to make an anim so the left hand rests a few inches closer to the right one when holding the weapon. Anyone know of any tutorials out there to aid with that?
NaboeN
You would need to replace an animation to get it to work, just so you know that. Animating for FO3 is worse than animating for CS:S
piccol0
Well, is there a way to edit existing anims to create a new separate anim? If it is just keyframing, can you just modify the x coord on the animation keys to move it back a bit? Any tuts out there?
SpeedyB64
The problem is that there are a limited number of animation slots. So to make a new one you would have to replace an old one. i would bug the FOSE guys about it so that they can get functionality for custom reloads. piccol0
The reload doesnt bother me as much as the idle, aiming and firing anims since it looks like the character has his hand on the barrel instead of reciever... heres a screen...
NaboeN
Stretch the model (not that I know how) to make the reciever longer.
piccol0
Ya, I could stretch it easy but it would look terrible. I found some tut from some modder for a mod called project valhala. It has something about using custom anims for weaps. http://www.project-valhalla.org/Adding_custom_animations If anyone has had any luck with this, please lemme know. I will try it myself when I get the time.
Skree000
you can change the idle position of the hands, however this will look bad since every animation using that Hand-grip style will lead INTO and OUT of that position. If you go modifying the resting pose for that wield style, each animation will have to blend into it, which will likely result in crazy bent wrists and arms, or may cause IK errors with the bones. Atleast, thats what I assume. Long answer: yes, custom animations are definitely possible, as is almost anything. With FOSE and ALOT of research, experimentation and hard work, yes it can be done. Or, as mentioned, contact the Valhalla guys because apparently they have custom animations already in use! (I havent had time to check that out, but ill need it since alot of the guns im making for my mod require alternative hand-positions. So far ive just been warping the guns to match current fallout wield positions)
NaboeN
The Valhalla has it "working" as in working, but buggy. If I understood it right.
