adding a new creature in GECK

Hay guys!

I need some help with this, so far ive made the new creature, gave it a name etc, added the skeleton and picked a model from the list, the animations all seem to work fine in geck preview, i drop the creature somewhere, run the game and go to the alien but theres no animations and suprisingly hes somewhat transparent but that is probably my custom textures fault, i also tried withwith the original alienrigged.nif and still the animations dont show up, and if i kill him fo3 just CTD on me. Theres obviously something ive done wrong. :ermm:

If there's perhaps a tutorial on adding new creatures out there somewhere or if anyone knows what im doing wrong i would greatly apreciate the help!! (googled and searched the forums for a tutorial but i cant find anything) :(

Still hoping a hero will jump in and save the day

you can try it?

back up "Fallout - Meshes"

get fomm.

open Fallout - Meshes.

select extract all.

once extracted. add the alien101 files to the creature folder.

then use fomm to repack it.

open the geck, do your work & then try the game & see if it worked?

OH MAN!!! i feel so stupid now, the last thing i expected was the problem, not sure why but re-enabeling archive invalidation in the FOMM made everything work right, animations and textures on the alien work just fine now.

It's strange though, i know i had it enabled before since i added my custom vault door textures and those worked just fine ingame while the alien didnt. well its working now and i also understand why no one replyed now lol.

As for your problem Jackpack, if you got the same issues as me try re-enabling archive invalidation, if you have a different problem just ask and i'll try to help you, and if i were you i wouldnt be adding custom content to the original Fallout bsa files, i suggest you make your own bsa for your plugin, makes for easy install and removal.
