Steam refuses to start

Since a few hours, and it's extremely frustrating to can not play games i paid for. Being on XP it can't be admin problems, right ?

 

So it launchs the update process every time but close in less than one second. And so far i've tried :

 

- to disable everything in the folder, then reboot the PC and restart Steam. It is making an huge update of 100k, before closing, and nothing else.

 

- to run steam://flushconfig, then reboot. Does nothing too.

 

- to rename the folder Steam1, same as above.

 

- to rename ClientRegistry.blob with Old, same as above.

 

 

The problem is maybe coming from a subfolder called chrome.pak (which is empty) as the debug.log say :

 

[1120/100049:ERROR:resource_bundle.cc(417)] Failed to load G:\Steam\bin\chrome.pak

[1120/100049:FATAL:browser_database_system.cc(40)] Check failed: temp_dir_.CreateUniqueTempDir().

 

Does someone have an idea of what i can do now ?

 

P.S. : remove or delete this thread if it's the wrong place to ask for such help, but i don't even remember my Steam forums nick and password.

 

 

EDIT : Steam works again, the problem was likely coming from it. Sorry ...
