Anyone know how to disable subtitles in Wildlander?

It's an immersion thing. I don't like subtitles in anything.

 

They can be disabled temporarily by bringing up Skyrim's settings in-game then just un-checking the subtitles option, but that has to be done every time Wildlander is started, which is irritating.

 

Is there any way to get this particular setting to 'stick' in Wildlander?

I sort of discovered the answer to my own question, in case anyone ever has this same problem:

 

The settings I mentioned do actually 'stick' sometimes, in fact most times. If you set them the way you want, then save your game, then exit the game, then re-launch it, they should still be the way you want them in most cases. I'm not sure the determining factor behind this, but I suspect Wildlander is resetting these things on its own depending on certain circumstances.

 

Similarly, if you hate the default FOV that Wildlander uses and go into the Mod Settings to adjust FOV in CustomizableCamera, you have to set the FOV you want, exit from the MCM menus, hit the tab button once, and that instantly sets your new FOV. It looks like you have to hit tab every single time you start the game for your new FOV to take place, but that's a minor irritation.
