Sozzky
Hey, My 35 hour save just started freezing out of nowhere. Saved and turned the game off yesterday without any issues. Got on it again today after work and now it freezes after just exploring for a while or fast travelling. If it's the latter case, the freeze will happen right about the time when the screen would start unfading from the loading screen. With some areas it seems very consistent and I'm able to get it to freeze right after loading the save game and fast travelling, with others though it might take a few tries of fast travelling back and forth. After the freeze occurs I can still hear in game music and ambience. Only way to get out of the game at that point is just to CTRL+ALT+DEL and force close Skyrim. Here's my load order:https://pastebin.com/HKbJLJyHIn addition, even though it's probably not that helpful, here are the last few seconds of the Papyrus log right before the freeze:https://pastebin.com/ZHch8jWE Before anyone asks, I didn't add any new mods for the last few days. Only had like one crash like 3 hours into the game, so the modlist, at least up to this point, was pretty stable. Any idea what might be causing this? Let me know if any more info is needed. 7531Leonidas
Have you tried verifying your game files under Steam (don't do this if you are on an older version of Skyrim)? Sometimes they get corrupted, and can cause crashes like this. Check out Net Script Framework, or Crash Logger (again, depending on your install (SKSE or not) and game version). They might help you find problems more easily. Game version is almost always needed for better advice.

I'm on 1.6.353.0, so verifying game files would update it to a newer version. I did try using Crash Logger, but since the game just freezes and never crashes I don't really get any information from it. Unless I'm wrong, Net Script Framework does not work with my version. I do have a backup of my game files so I could attempt to reinstall it that way. I wanted to try to find some other solutions before resorting to that though. Do you think I should just go ahead with that or is there something else that could still be done? EDIT:I went through with the reinstall from my backup and it seems to run fine now. Thanks for the suggestion. Edited November 11, 2022 by Sozzky
7531Leonidas
You are welcome - do you use the original files, or are they 'cleaned' masters? I reverted to the original 'dirty' masters on the latest v. 1.5 before the AE offering, and it seemed to reduce crashes for me. I followed later advice, which said xEdit had made adjustments, and cleaned my v. 1.6.353 masters, and it seems that my crashes are again more frequent. Will experiment again with 'dirty' masters when some mods catch up with the latest version of SE, to see if similar results occur.

Interesting info, I'll keep it in mind if it starts crashing. In addition, just wanted to let people know that I started getting some freezes after reinstalling again and uninstalling the "Better Third Person Selection" mod helped. No more freezes since then for the last few days.
7531Leonidas
BTW - SKSE also has a log, I believe. You could check it to make sure all of your SKSE .dll files are loading properly.
