AntoniusMaximus
Hello people, I was wondering if it is feasible in some way to edit characters' facial features (PCs, not NPCs) with the same level of detail as G.E.C.K. provides. I love how it is possible to be much more precise and detailed in the editor, with asymmetry and texture options that are not available in the game. My aim is to make a face that looks truly unique, which is tough to do in-game. I can take any NPC and make him/her look great with G.E.C.K, but I am saddened by the fact that I am not able to edit my PCs the same way... Any pointers? I looked in the forums, Google, etc... to no avail. Cheers, AntoniusMaximus.
Pax1138
As far as I know, the best method is to go ahead and make that face in GECK, put that person in the world somewhere, and then use the matchrace and matchface geometry console commands to copy the NPCs face to the PC. That is:1. Open the console and click on the NPC so that their code appears at the top of the screen.2. Enter player.matchrace ######3. Enter player.matchfacegeometry ####### 100Note that the number given when clicking on an NPC in the console isn't the same as the Form ID in the GECK, so you've got to use the in-game one. -Pax
Dammomark
there are advanced face modeling options in the in game face generator i cant rem where exactly but it gives you the same option you get in GECK I'm fairly sure

Apparently the command player.matchfacegeometry ## 100 deforms the character completely. I just transformed an average Fallout 3 girl into a hideous creature. See attached for laughs. Playing with the value (0 - 100) results in varying degrees of monstrosity. So I guess this method may not be perfect. Unless I am doing something horribly wrong. Any other ideas floating about in the community?

NaboeN
You can also create a useless npc, and put their face as a preset making it much easier to get a good face from the geck into the game
AntoniusMaximus
You can also create a useless npc, and put their face as a preset making it much easier to get a good face from the geck into the game This method worked. For those who want to do the same, just create a NPC which you don't even have to place anywhere on the map, and check the box marked Is Chargen Face Preset in the NPC's properties sheet. Then, in-game, just type showracemenu and choose your character's new face preset. I had not thought about that process. Perhaps its simplicity baffled me. In any case, thanks a lot NaboeN. Pax1138
Or you could do that. Duh. Why am I dumb and needlessly complicated? -Pax
maywire
What I do is select one of the preset npcs (called something like CGPresetAsian01) change the number in the id then change the face. It'll create a new id, with all the settings you need for a preset and it's easy.
Gorzog
Annnnnnnnnnnnnnd if you want to do that WITHOUT resetting your character, create a new savegame and then try this fantastic utility!
