Correct Weapon Model refuses to show up...

I've been working on fixing up some things to work with FOOK and I've moved on to WMEVE... and so I've run into my first inexplicable snag:

 

The laser rifle with just a beam splitter equipped also shows a scope in first and third person (but not on the dropped world model). I've checked the mesh with Nifskope and the loaded model should NOT be showing the scope...

 

The game engine thinks I have no scope at this point, so ironsights are used despite the scope in my face. If I load other mods in combination with the above, everything is normal.

 

 

What would cause a weapon mod, a scope in particular, to show up regardless of Mesh loaded for the weapon???

 

Edit: Got it, EVE has the incorrect static texture for the beamsplitter, and it fails to get patched in WMEVE.
