I completely uninstalled DR and TiIC quite some time ago, and the issue is still happening, btw.

When you load a game from the main menu, Oblivion reads all ESM's and ESP's in the data directory, whether active or not. When you load from ingame, Oblivion does not reload ESM's or ESP's (or so I understand from a rather complex thread discussing this issue and Wrye's utilities)

I believe, that in order to solve your problem, you not only have to have the offending mods deselected, but you have to remove them from the Oblivion Data directory. You will then, also, probably have to load a save from before the offending mods were originally installed.

Hope this helps.

PS. This is the thread

That's actually what I was figuring. I was afraid of that. I don't have any saves from before the mod installed. Also, the mods in question have been completely removed for some time, now, and that didn't help. :(

Try this, Windom Earle_s Oblivion Crash Prevention System

http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=22282

It's being updated often so if it doesn't fix all of your crashes check back in a few days.

Note, it is not a mod and doesn't install like a mod, so be sure to read the instructions.
